Notes

traffic island or verge. The position of allchambers and ducts to be agreed withthe Overseeing Organisation.
3. Size of chamber used shall depend onthe depth and number of ducts to beaccommodated.
4. Standard Units shall be as manufacturedby Glandel Ltd, or similar approved.
5. Chamber Type Sp shall be constructedin English Bond Class B Engineeringbricks to comply with SHW series 2400.
6. The courses shall be laid in horizontaland vertical alignment. Joints shall notexceed 10 and shall be flush pointedinternally as work proceeds.
7. Base units for all chambers may bereplaced with cast-insitu ST4 concrete150 thick. Formed surfaces shall beClass F1. Unformed surfaces shall beClass U2 plain finish. In accordancewith clause 1708.4 SHW.
8. All joints between chamber and ductsshall be made good with Class 1 mortar.The duct shall be surrounded by 150min thick ST4 concrete.
9. Covers shall be galvanised with an unlockand lift device and badgemarked TrafficLoop, Traffic signals or Street Lighting asappropriate.
10. Surface level toleranceshall be +60or -15 in paved areas or -15 to -50maximum in verges.
