Steam Turbines for GE Fr6 and Fr7 Heavy duty Gas TurbinesCombined cycle... Most efficient solution for today’s power needs
Today the power generation business requires machinery manufacturers to be focused on thermal efficiency, reduction of emissions and operational flexibility because of their strong impact on plant operating cost both for Utility plants and Industrial cogeneration. Combined cycle plants fueled by natural gas have become the preferred solution to meet the above requirements and most of design efforts have been directed towards improving the performance of gas fired turbo-generators including features that provide environment friendliness. GE Oil & Gas has a complete line of stream turbines for medium/small size combined cycle applications.
Overview of GE Industrial steam turbines
GE Oil & Gas Steam Turbines use both impulse and reaction blades technology for superior efficiency over a broad range of operating conditions. Used in condensing configurations, they virtually cover the gamut of Oil & Gas and Industrial Power Generation applications.
• The modular structured design permits a high degree of customization to meet the specific steam cycle needs and it can provide controlled or uncontrolled extraction/ injection of steam at any possible intermediate pressure level. • The inlet section has a trip valve directly mounted on the turbine casing and hydraulically actuated multi-valves for sliding pressure of constant pressure control. • Steam flow is controlled by partial or full-arc admission. Controlled extractions can be handled with a multivalve system similar to that used in the inlet section, or with off-shell throttling valves depending on the pressure levels and application requirements. • The exhaust section is in a separate casing flanged to the high pressure section. It can be radial (upward or downward flow) or axial.
