● Set higher goals for themselves (Bandura & Cervone,
1986)
● Are more committed to their goals (Locke, Frederick,
Lee, & Bobko, 1984)
● Persist longer in the face of difficulty and are extremely
resilient in the face of failure (Bandura, 1982)
● Are generally more content with their work and lives
(Judge, Locke, Durhamn, & Kluger, 1998)
