Stokley Charmichael

Black civil rights leader By: Aidan Mary

1942

Born in Spain.

1952

He graduated form Howard University.

Moved to New York.

(I guess people go to college when there very young back then)

1964

He participated in the congress of racial equivalency.

1966

He ejected more moderate leaders and set off a storm of anger by calling for "black power.

1969

Stokley Joined any marches for civil rights around.

1972

He moved to Conakry, Guinea.

Changed his name to Kwame Ture.

1988

He died from cancer at age 57.

He said publicly that " The cancer was given to me by forces of American imperialism. Nobody knows exactly what he meant to this day.
