STORMINA name that’s risen to prominence in Drum & Bass with remarkable speed over the last two years, this highly-rated new star arrives on the scene loaded with considerable experience following his impressive achievements as part of one of the Grime scene’s founding collectives, NASTY Crew. This said, Jungle has always had a place in his family, his uncle sharing a long-standing friendship with Remarc and his younger brother, MC Eksman. Aware of the typical difficulties facing any MC bidding to make progress in the Drum & Bass scene, Stormin’s secondary passion for Grime afforded him the opportunity to make preliminary inroads into live performance. Over the years, regular slots on Déjà vu FM pushed Stormin into the spotlight; his Monday night show featuring then up and coming special guests like Dizzee Rascal and Durrty Goodz.

The legacy left behind following the disbanding of NASTY was considerable; famed by many as architects of their respective movement, associations with the likes of D Double, Footsie, Kano and Jammer had helped push Stormin’s name into the mainstream consciousness; he had also received regular exposure on Mission FM, Déjà vu and even enjoyed commercial attention via Logan Sama on Kiss FM and Westwood on Radio 1. The time seemed right to make an assault on the Drum & Bass scene. Networking hard under the tutelage of MC Shabba D, again a close friend of his uncle, Stormin began to grab the opportunity to take the microphone at events with increasing frequency and in due course, interest grew in the budding star and word of mouth led to a few bookings of his own.Two years on and the bond remained strong with Stormin now a fully-committed member of Shabba’s Higher Level collective. With his first big breaks landing with slots at household names like Breakin Science, Breakology, Global Energy weekender and now Innovation, Stormin is settling as a fully-fledged name on the scene and set to grow from strength to strength in 2011, one of only a few MC’s to successfully break his way into this scene in recent years.<< Click the Image to see Stormin's LIVE Set on Logan Sama's After Hours Show
