and create aspirational minds.”
Based on a bold and ambitious vision, this Strategic Plan has responded with a bold and ambitious strategy to enable this to occur. The Strategic Plan seeks not only to deliver on our vision, it also embraces our Mission statement and Core Values. Building upon our long history of educational excellence in Qatar and the region, the Strategic Plan provides the framework for future decision making and investment into the College. The Strategic Plan is supported by the Development Plan which outlines key areas of focus, objectives and outcomes. Measurement against key performance indicators will occur annually and will reported on through the Board of Governors annual report. The Strategic Plan has been developed in partnership between the Board of Governors,
the Doha College Leadership Team, British Embassy, staff, students and the parent body over the past 3 years and is intended to guide the college over the next exciting period.
The Board of Governors and the Principal of Doha College are committed to working together with all stakeholders in the college community, to deliver the Strategic Plan and to strengthen our reputation as a leading international school. ‘The sole purpose of any school is to place the child at the heart of everything it does. Anything less is unacceptable.’ The Doha College Strategy Document and the Development Plan has been collated with key stakeholder consultation. The intention of these plans is to highlight how we intend to move closer to an ambitious vision “to enable personal growth, instil a passion for learning and create aspirational minds.” In many areas we have already achieved this. However, it is an aspirational target that once reached, can always be further improved upon. That is one of the many wonderful challenges the college will always face. As Principal it is my role to ensure that our course is clearly defined by the Board.
Our staff who are integral to the college achieving its strategic plan are carefully selected to guarantee we have the very best, both on the support and teaching side. Their commitment to providing an outstanding educational provision has to be exceptional. There is no second chance for our students.

and create aspirational minds
Doha College is one of the oldest British Curriculum Schools in Qatar. From humble beginnings, Doha College has grown and now provides a world class education to more than 1800 students between the ages of 3 and 18, representing more than 50 nationalities. Established in 1980, the college proudly celebrated its Pearl Anniversary in 2010. Originally opened to meet the demand for a British-style education, the institution continues to operate under the sponsorship of the British Embassy on a not-for-profit basis. There is tangible energy, enthusiasm and dynamism apparent throughout the college and it is clear that the students are happy and thrive on the challenges offered both in and out of the classroom. All stakeholders believe that the ‘DC experience’ should be a positive, indelible and memorable one, which prepares and remains with each student for life. The college is committed to high academic
standards and is recognised as a centre for
excellence in the region. We follow the
National Curriculum for England, students
excel at all Key Stages and work towards
(I)GCSEs, AS and A2 level examinations. We
have a thriving 6th Form with over 200
students. Examination results have
consistently highlighted our reputation as a
school of excellence. Our results are
comparable with the very best schools and sit
amongst the top 100 schools in the UK.
Qatar is a dynamic and thriving country in which to live, where its culture and heritage are intertwined with modern development and advancements. The country will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. This will be a catalyst for huge growth in all sectors within the region and the college will play a significant role in this project. To help facilitate the growth of Qatar and the education of its children, Doha College is constructing a state of the art building. With an anticipated completion date in 2018 this exciting and unique project will involve all staff, students and parents.
Doha College provides an inspiring and challenging learning environment which develops confidence, creativity and intellect, in order to enable every student to make a valued contribution to our global society.
