Our Result : Even the best of students find the First Year Engineering (F.E.) course and its examination quite difficult. Especially on the background of the straightforward pattern of Std. XII, the studies of engineering appear to be particularly tough. Although the top students of Std. XII go for engineering, the overall percentage of F.E. result is only about 35 % or even less. Many good students have to undergo the painful mortification of the ATKT, if not failure. However the percentage of successful candidates at Vidyalankar has always been above 90%. Please go through our Result.
Note: (Refer Time table Pg. 4, 5 and 6)1) Centers are mentioned in alphabetical order.
2) Each batch is assigned a unique batch code. Please ensure that there is no discrepancy in the batch you have chosen and the batch code printed on your receipt. Batch Code for Sem. II (wherever applicable) will be automatically generated by the computer.
3) The various batches for Maths will be known as M I (7011231), M I (7011241), etc. Similarly for the other subjects. A student cannot select clashing batches. e.g. a student cannot take M 1(7012241) and Mech. (7032241) ; he/she may take M I (7012241) and for Mech., he/she should select any batch except 7032241.
4) All the subjects will be completely covered well before the next University examination which is likely to be held in Nov. 2019.
5) There is no hard and fast rule about the choice of the batches. Any one will be allowed to change the batch to any other (available) batch at later stage, if needed (of course, only after written permission from our office). Change of subject will not
ndbe permitted under any circumstances. Same timetable will be followed in the 2 Term.
6) A student may attend different subjects at our different centres (Andheri, Borivali, Chembur, Dadar, Ghatkopar, Kalyan, Kandivali, Nerul, Panvel, Thane, Vashi) according to his / her convenience. (Shifting from our one centre to any of our other centres will also be permitted, if needed, of course, only after written permission from our office).
7) i) All the long sessions will have adequate breaks.
ii) The dates, timings & duration given are tentative and we reserve the right to alter these.
8) * Extra Lecture(s) will be engaged (if required) and will be decided in consultation with the students.
9) Students may give a written request to our Centre Co–ordinator in the prescribed form if they Student–On–Demand Batches:want Vidyalankar to offer batches for additional subjects like Applied Physics / Applied Chemistry or want batches at a schedule other than that mentioned in the prospectus.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1) Is the First Year Engineering Syllabus common to all branches of Engineering ?
Yes. In Mumbai University, First year Engineering (F.E.) syllabus is common to all the branches.
2) Why is passing in First Year Engineering found difficult ?
There is a very very wide gulf between the environment of Std. XII and that of First Year of Engineering. Even the topmost
students find this gulf quite shocking. In spite of a sincere and strong desire to work hard, one feels totally helpless in the midst
of complete lack of clarity about what, how and when to study. The absence of advance preparation in the Summer vacation,
the new burdens of manual work in the Workshops and submitting several journals within the impossible target dates, leaves
hardly any time for study, assimilation and practice of the new and tough subjects. The inevitable result is that the innocent and
naively confident student of Std. XII is suddenly thrown into a storm of confusion. This is quite evident from the fact that the
First Year results are rarely above 35%. i.e. 2 of every 3 Students get a KT (i.e. fail)
3) Why I need good pointer in Engineering?
Good Grade pointer (8+) right from the first semester will open the door for a better career - be it Placement in Top
Companies or Higher Studies in World Class Universities/ Institutes.
Good academic performance starting right from the first year therefore becomes a critical requirement.
4) Which Subjects are found difficult by the students?
In the first Semester, Engineering Mechanics, BEE, Maths I and in Semester II, Engineering Graphics, C Programming,
Maths II are found difficult by the students.
5) When will be the Examination of Semester-I ?
Students will be taking their first ever University Sem. I in November. Moreover, students will also need to appear for the Two
mandatory Internal Assessment (IA) Tests (around mid-Sept. and end-Oct.) As they are a separate Heads of Passing, it is
important to prepare well for these Tests.
