Directions: Cut material

PENTAGONS If you have 2 pentagons of each fabric sew together RST. Turn, pull corners with pin, iron. You can use 1 piece instead. Cut out heat & bond same size. Iron on heat & bond on silk setting 2-3 seconds just to slightly bond. You may have to iron longer due to more layers.

LETTERS/SHAPES Pin to fabric –cut out square around shape. Cut out heat & bond same size. Unpin. Iron on heat & bond on silk setting 2-3 seconds just to slightly bond. Re-pin letter/shape (make sure the right side of the fabric is facing up so it works on your finished product! Cut out. Remove paper backing. Place in desired spot on pentagon.

BIAS Iron strip of material through bias maker. Mine was a little big 1 ½ inches is easier to work with.

Fold in half, iron again. Decide which print bias you want on the neck and which you want on the bottom. Find center of both tapes – mark with pin. Find center of cape at top & bottom. Mark with pin. Pin bias tape to neck of cape. See photo:

Fold over using ironed creases. Pin to neck. Cut straps to desired length. ___ what did I do? Pin straps too. Beginning at one end, topstitch using fancy stitch all the way to opposite strap. Tie knots in either end. Optional: Match center of bias (pinned) to center to bottom of cape (pinned). Pin to each edge.

Sew on bottom at ¼ inch or to the very right of the ironed crease. Fold over using ironed creases. Pin. Cut at edges leaving a little to fold over. I don’t know how to finish this better – research it! Beginning at one end, topstitch using fancy stitch all the way to the end.

Happy flying!
