THE
OF
BRAZEN
JessicaRichman
She’s hot.
She’s strong (like a farmgirl)
She’s dedicated.
She’s a fighter.
Twelve hour days are customary as she leaves her day job as a lawyer.

Richman makes the
commute to her night job,
gym owner, role model, dog
sitter. The walk up the stairs
to Brazen Boxing and MMA
will most likely weed out
any people looking for a
vanity workout. That’s
reserved for the gym
two floors down…
you know, the
one with a
salon in it.

Richman’s philosophy of cReatinga welcoming environment for all fitness levels is in full bloom, with a packed house of members.
Empowering women is also an essential cog in the Brazen machine. Richman teaches women to let loose, be fearless, and embrace their inner aggressor.
Lots of gyms sugar coat fighting for women. It’s more of a half-assed attempt at doing cardio, while mixing in punches and kicks that would most likely injure them versus the intended target. White washed workouts is not what Brazen is about.
Bring it hard, or hit the bricks.
Average Joes can work out next to championship level fighters, ask them questions, and get help. It’s a symbiotic system that has been well-received.
At first glance,
Brazen looks like
a studio. Clean.
It doesn’t smell like
old feet and anger.
It’s approachable
on purpose.
Richman’s reality
of having a cohesive
place where everyone
can be comfort-
able in their skin has
started to bloom, and
her vision of having a
stable of absolute monster
fighters is also a reality.
And that’s where Rain Man
comes in.

Body Breaker.
It’s quitting time, said
Jason Sargus, Never.
Watching fight films,
fighters, and more
film is his life. He
can pick out incon-
sistencies in his
fighter’s form and function
in the blink of an eye.

His conditioning techniques are some of the most highly-regarded in the area. There’s one thing you will get from a Sargus training session, absolutely wrecked. It’s an elite system of breaking down to build up.
When I call him Rain Man, believe me, it’s in the highest regards. I don’t think he only buys his under-wear from K-Mart. Thankfully.
His mind for processing infor-mation is scary good. And it shows with his fighters. Championships, wins, and more wins.
It’s only a matter of time before one of Brazen’s fighters hits the big show, the UFC.
After our visit, Sargus pretends to say goodbye, but he’s buried in the computer, watching film. The way it should be. Laser beam focus is what you need to create something people haven’t seen before. This is the sound of my hands clapping.
Congrats Jessica and Jason, you’ve created a rock-et-fueled system, coated in choc-olate that tastes like strawber-ries. Bring it.
