The Call in WellingtonWhen people ask how the Events have gone so far, it’s great to be able to report back so many highlights. There is always a fantastic atmosphere when the men gather at the Wellington venue because they bring expectancy, enthusiasm and excitement. There were more men than last year, and for the first time in several years they enjoyed fine weather instead of rain.
There were over 60 in the choir, over half from Hosanna Hutt City. The Hosanna guys deliberately make it a father-son experience, so there were plenty of young men in the choir. They enjoyed it so much that most will be travelling to Auckland to join the choir here!
Roy Warren was a popular and dynamic addition to the speaking team. He will be part of the line-up in Auckland. The speakers nailed it, and men got real clarity and direction as they prayed about and considered their calling.
When the winner was drawn for the chainsaw prize, Dale Phillips came forward. Despite being in a wheelchair, he is really thrilled with the chainsaw. Dale gave a short testimony that was incredibly powerful and brought a tear to the eye. Go Dale!
It’s tradition to end Promise Keepers with the National Anthem. Have you ever noticed that all the power verses never get sung? Well, they do at Promise Keepers! What a blessing to be singing corporately about loving God more and preaching love and truth as part of “God Defend New Zealand”. Wow!
