22

Clover Tethering: Station and Mini

Clover supports POS tethering functionality! A Clover Station or Clover Mini can be tethered to a customer-facing Clover Mini. The merchant will need to install the USB Pay Display app in order to activate the tethering feature. Tethering is supported on both the 2000 and the Pro software plans.

With Mini-Mini: merchants can manage transactions with the Sale app, Refund app, Register app, or Manual Transaction app from merchant-facing Clover Mini.

With Station-Mini: merchants can manage orders from the Register app and Manual Transaction app.

23

Clover Merchant Keypad

The Merchant Keypad is a USB accessory that plugs into a USB port on Clover Mini’s hub. It is designed to speed up simple transactions: the merchant enters an amount and hits Enter, which allows the customer to pay on Clover Mini. No swiveling required.

24

Contactless Payment Acceptance

Clover accepts NFC contactless payments on our Clover Mobile and Mini devices. When prompted, customers have the option to pay by tapping their Visa or MasterCard contactless card for Apple Pay, Google Wallet, Android Pay or any phone app that allows contactless payments.

Note: Battery level on Clover Mobile devices needs to be at least 20% in order to accept a contactless payment. Support for American Express and Discover contactless, including Apple Pay, will be coming soon. American Express, Discover and other non-supported

contactless brands will return an error of “TERMINATED - INSERT, SWIPE OR TRY ANOTHER CARD”. The transaction limit (max) has been increased to $99,999.99 for contactless payments via the Clover Mini, Clover Mobile and FD40.

25

Debit EMV Payment Acceptance

Clover has added Debit EMV payment acceptance on our Clover Mobile and Mini devices!

When inserting the card, customers may have multiple options displayed on screen. Merchants must have the Debit entitlement on their merchant account to accept Debit EMV payments.

Will always prompt for PIN; will be

processed as debit

May not prompt for PIN; will be processed as

credit

Note: This flow is typical across the EMV industry and is not unique to Clover

26

Cash Back

Merchants can now offer Cash Back on Clover. This feature can be managed, including the set amount, in the Setup app on the Clover web dashboard.

Cash Back is only supported if the merchant enables cash back, the customer taps Debit when paying and then enters their PIN to complete the transaction:

1 2

Note: Cashback transactions for EMV cards (including Debit EMV) will be coming soon! Currently, cashback will only be prompted for when performing swipe transactions.

27

Clover supports EBT Cash Benefit on Clover Mobile and Clover Mini1

• Other features of EBT Clover supports:• Magnetic stripe read + PIN entry• Ability to perform a sale using an EBT cash benefit account• Balance inquiry for EBT cash benefit accounts• Voids (within 25 minutes)

After installing the EBT app, “EBT” will automatically be added to Setup app > Payments > Tender types.

A merchant must have the EBT entitlement on their merchant account in order for the app to work. Merchants who attempt to use the app and do not have the proper setup on their merchant account will receive a “service not allowed” error message.

1 Clover Station and FD-40 is not supported
