• A study for the NSW Government estimated that net benefits of cycling equate to 48.22 cents per bicycle kilometre travelled (Price Waterhouse Coopers, 2009).

• A similar study undertaken for the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads estimated net benefits of $1.43 per kilometre cycled including $1.12 in health benefits where cycling infrastructure is included in other transport infrastructure projects (Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, 2011).
