7The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the
soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, mak-
ing wise the simple. 8The precepts of the Lord
are right, rejoicing the heart; The command-
ment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the
eyes. 9The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring
forever; The judgments of the Lord are true;
they are righteous altogether. 10They are more
desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of
the honeycomb. 11Moreover, by them Your
servant is warned; In keeping them there is
great reward. (Psalm 19:7-11 NASB95)

Where there is no vision, the people
perish: but he that keepeth the law,
happy is he. (Proverbs 29:18 KJV)
The Word is Bread 53So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you,
unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink
His blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54“He
who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal
life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55“For
My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. 56“He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood
abides in Me, and I in him. 57“As the living Father
sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who
eats Me, he also will live because of Me. 58“This is
the bread which came down out of heaven; not as
the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will
live forever.” (John 6:53-58 NASB95)
Jesus tells us that we need to eat His flesh and drink His
blood, but He is not talking about His physical body.
He is speaking of God‟s Word, which is also Spirit and
life (John 6:63). We eat and drink His body and blood
by reading His Word and doing it.
Whole-Bible Christians love to eat His flesh and drink
His blood. It is manna from heaven; the Bread of Life.
This booklet helps us by laying out a schedule where
the first five books of the Bible (the Pentateuch) are
split into weekly readings, along with sections of the
first five books of the NT and other books. The reader
can read every day, so that he or she can honor God‟s
command to meditate on His Word all the time. By put-
ting these types of schedules together, communities can
stay unified in weekly reading and study of the whole
of God‟s Word. This schedule is also the basis for mes-

sages in our weekly congregational meetings. It is not
required to do things this way; it merely helps with
study and unity.
Why read the Pentateuch? The first reason is that it is
the foundation for all the other books of the Bible. As a
matter of fact, a better name for the entire Old Testa-
ment is the „Foundational Testament.‟ All the other
books were compared to the Pentateuch in order to de-
cide what went into the accepted cannon that we have
now. The second reason comes from what Jesus says
about them. 46“For if you believed Moses, you would believe
Me, for he wrote about Me. 47“But if you do not be-
lieve his writings, how will you believe My
words?” (John 5:46-47 NASB95)
The third reason is that if you want to read a letter, it is
more understandable if you start at the beginning. It is
also easier to understand and implement the other books
with a thorough knowledge of the first five. The fourth
reason is because He tells us this is how we love Him. 9“Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved
you; abide in My love. 10“If you keep My command-
ments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept
My Father‟s commandments and abide in His love.
(John 15:9-10 NASB95)
The Pentateuch is called in Hebrew Torah, meaning
„instruction.‟ All the other books refer to the Torah ex-
plicitly or implicitly, and assume those who love Him
have a knowledge and practice of Torah. But Torah in-
cludes all of the instructions given to us by our Papa for
healthy living and long life and to please Him, and in-
cludes those in the New Testament. Torah, or God‟s in-
structions, are in all the books, yet the framework is set
forth in the first five books initially.
Torah helps us to keep our ways pure. 9How can a young man keep his way pure? By
keeping it according to Your word. 10With all my
heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from
Your commandments. 11Your word I have treasured
in my heart, That I may not sin against You. (Psalm
119:9-11 NASB95)
If we place God‟s Word in our hearts, we will be identi-
fied as wise and avoid slipping. 30The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, And his
tongue speaks justice. 31The law of his God is in his
heart; His steps do not slip. (Psalm 37:30-31
NASB95)
For the Lord our God says:
7“Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, A
people in whose heart is My law; Do not fear the
reproach of man, Nor be dismayed at their revilings. 8“For the moth will eat them like a garment, And the
grub will eat them like wool. But My righteousness
will be forever, And My salvation to all genera-
tions.” (Isaiah 51:7-8 NASB95)
11“For this commandment which I command you
today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of
reach. 12“It is not in heaven, that you should say,
„Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and
make us hear it, that we may observe it?‟ 13“Nor is it
beyond the sea, that you should say, „Who will cross

the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it,
that we may observe it?‟ 14“But the word is very
near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you
may observe it. (Deuteronomy 30:11-14 NASB95)
Why make a system? As an aide for returning the love
our Father lavishes on us, and for meditating on His
Ways. 15I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your
ways. 16I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not
forget Your word. (Psalm 119:15-16 NASB95).
Dates are to the right, starting with the first Sabbath af-
ter Tabernacles (Sukkot Sue-coat). Each reading should
be completed by the next congregational meeting. If
you follow this schedule you will know roughly where
the teachings for the weekly meetings will come from,
and you will have some background for them. Reading
the section beforehand will also cause you to develop
questions to ask, or the Spirit may reveal something for
you to share with everyone. In this way body life is en-
couraged and reinforced as we build one another up in
His Word. After all, each of us is a minister.
We call the New Testament the Apostolic Scriptures
because a number of people, and we agree, feel that the
impression given by the former name is that it replaces
the Old. The New Testament is also not a covenant it-
self, although it refers to the new covenant given in
Jeremiah 31. 31“Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when I will make a new covenant with the house of
Israel and with the house of Judah, 32not like the
covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I
took them by the hand to bring them out of the land
of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I
was a husband to them,” declares the Lord. 33“But
this is the covenant which I will make with the
house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord,
“I will put My law within them, and on their heart I
will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall
be My people. 34“And they shall not teach again,
each man his neighbor and each man his brother,
saying, „Know the Lord,‟ for they shall all know
Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,”
declares the Lord, “for I will forgive their iniquity,
and their sin I will remember no more.” (Jeremiah
31:31-34 NASB)
Headings. Each weekly section has a Hebrew name.
Each book usually also has a Hebrew name. We have
included a transliteration of the name, as well as an
English name or translation. The numbers after the Eng-
lish book name are the number of chapters in that book.
A transliteration is just a group of sounds in English in-
tended to help pronounce the Hebrew. A translation
gives the meaning of the Hebrew name. A verse or
chapter reference in parenthesis is for Protestant bibles,
which differ somewhat in the verse order from the He-
brew version of the Tanakh (OT).
Feast Days. When one of God‟s Festivals is celebrated
(see Leviticus 23), there are additional scripture read-
ings. These are in the charts on pages 25 through 30.
Since Festival days move around a little (on a lunar cal-
endar) compared to the calendar we are used to (the
Gregorian is solar), it is hard to interlace them on the
main chart. There are equal signs (=====) in the date

column and a note in the NOTE column to indicate a
break, so when you see them you will be reminded to
go to the Festival charts for those readings.
Leap Year. Every once in a while a month is added to
synchronize the lunar calendar (the one the Bible uses)
with the solar calendar (the Roman one we normally
use). But usually we have to add some of the shorter
sections together because there are more sections than
there are weeks in a solar year. These are marked with
plus signs +++++ so you‟ll know to add them together.
Changes and Additional Readings. These charts are
just the framework and start of a reading schedule. Feel
free to add readings of your own. We have already done
some of that with the addition of a field for suggested
readings. A Note column has been provided if needed
also. If it seems good to us to modify the schedule for
everyone with an additional reading, then we will in-
clude it on the next printed version of the chart.
Read through the Bible in a year. Reading about three
chapters a day and five on Saturday (23 per week) gets
you through the Bible in a year. In the Notes column are
chapters for the week to help you check your progress.
We encourage you to read the whole thing, then read it
again. And again. The first time through skip sections
like genealogies if you want. The next time will be bet-
ter, and the third time even more. Keep going.
NOTE: Equal signs (=====) indicate a break for Fes-
tival readings on pages 25-30. Some notes have been
added to help with this. See the note column on the
right of the chart for Festival timing.
