یہدی القوم الفسقین

02Say, if your fathers, and your sons, and your brethren, and your wives, and yourkinsfolk, and the wealth you have acquired, and the trade whose dullness youfear, and the dwellings which you love are dearer to you than Allah and HisMessenger and striving in His cause, then wait until Allah comes with Hisjudgment; and Allah guides not the disobedient people. (9:24)

Hadith

Hazarat Ubai bin kab (ra) narrates that I said to the Holy ProphetMuhammad (sa), O Messenger of Allah, I invoke Allah’s peaceand blessings upon you copiously, how much time should I aimfor this, he said as much time you think is proper, I submitted aquarter of my time, he said as much time as you wish, but itwould be better for you if you could devout more time, I said halfof my time, he said whatever you wish, but it would be still betterfor you if you were to increase it, than I said two third’s of mytime, he said as much as you wish, but it would still be better foryou if you were to increase it, I said shall I devout all my time,supplications reciting salat on you, he said than it will take careof all you worries and your sins will be forgiven.

The Holy Prophet(sa) once stated: Opeople, on the Day of Judgementthose who will be most worthy ofsalvation from it’s fear and risks willbe those who most sent Durood uponme during their lives. Certainly, theblessings of Allah and His angels wassufficient for me as is mentioned inthe verse, “Certainly Allah and Hisangels call down blessings on theProphet”. But Allah ordered thebelievers to do as well so that theymay be rewarded because of it. (Kanzul Ummal)

Once it so happened that I was completely absorbed in invoking Allah’s blessingupon the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, for a longperiod of time because I was certain that the paths of reaching Allah the Almighty

are very narrow and cannot be found except through the intermediation of theHoly Prophetsa. As Allah also says: (…and seek the way of approach unto Him… )After a period of time I saw a vision that two water-men enter my house, one from

the interior side and the other from the exterior. On their shoulders they werecarrying waterskins filled with the light Divine. They said: “This is a consequence of

the blessings you invoked upon Muhammad (sa).” (Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 22, p. 131, footnote)

The Promised Messiah (as) personal experience

"You must not recite Durood Shareef as amere ritual or habit. It should come fromthe fountain of love within your heart. Forexample, do not recite Durood as people dogenerally, like a parrot. They are notsincere towards the Holy Prophet (sa) …Before reciting Durood Shareef one musttruly believe that there neither was, norwill there ever be – since the beginning oftime until the end of time – anybody who ismore saturated in the love of the HolyProphet (sa) than himself." (Maktubat-e-Ahmad, 15 April 1883)
