There are over 350 types of landminesfound in approximately 80 countries and territories

since World War I

Cluster bombs have been used in over 20 countries

Iraq : In just three weeks, 13, 000 cluster bombs were used containing 1.8-2

million bomblets by the U.K. and U.S.

The most contaminated areas are: Afghanistan, Cambodia, Iraq, Laos, Kosovo and Vietnam

Convention (80% of the world)

The number of new landmine victims is less now than ten years ago

The amount of land cleared is increasing

More countries continue to become members of the Ottawa Convention

But the job is not done yet. . .
