SeisGridSeisGrid
SeisGrid is a platform to aggregate computing resources across
distributed locations and administrative boundaries of
institutes for coordinated computations for various
applications
Why CEA SeisGrid?
• Aggregating computing resources across geometrically distributed locations and administrative boundaries
• Increasing resource utilization and sharing
• Enabling the computing environment for the problems in earthquake prediction ;
• Seismological data and Resource sharing
CEA SeisGrid Main Task
• Build earthquake scientific computing grid
• Develop earthquake simulation module for grid software environment
• Promote earthquake simulation module in Grid Community
• Grid applications
Software Infrastructure
• OS: GNU/Linux • Distribution: RedHat,
Fedora• Compiler: GNU GCC • C Library: glibc 2.3 • Grid Middleware: Globus
toolkit • MPI: MPICH-G2
High Performance Cluster
Dawning 4000A--- 9 nodes• Total number of processors: 18
Total number of nodes: 9CPU: AMD OPERTORN 240
• OS: Linux• Installation: 2003
Benefits of Clustering
• Easy to build• High Performance (HP)• High Availability (HA)• scalable• Cheap
Current Status
• Grid Portal
• Web-based job submission
• Real time monitoring
• Broker allocates computing resource
• Inter-cluster parallel computation
Parallel Earthquake Modules
• 1. Load/Unload Response Ratio (LURR) (finished)
• 2.Numerical simulation of crustal stress on China mainland (finished)
• 3.InSAR(Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar) forward modeling (finished)
• 4.Other 4 modules on Earthquake Location and Virtual Observation ( ongoing)
