There are 4 regions of Texas. These include the Coastal Plains, the North Central Plains, the Great Plains, and Mountains and Basins.

The Regions of Texas

The southern and western edge of Texas’s Coastal Plains is the Rio Grande. The river forms the borderbetween Texas and Mexico.

The Alamo is located in the Coastal Plains Region.

The North Central Plains are north of the Coastal Plains region.

The northern border is the Red River. The land is rolling and hilly throughout much of the region.

Farming and ranching dominate the North Central Plains. Cotton and wheat are two crops that are grown.

This region is vast, and contains large stretches of flat-rolling land.

Much of the region is broad grassland, excellent for grazing cattle, sheep, and goats.

Palo Duro Canyon State Park is a popular camping spot.
