Regions of the Eastern Hemisphere Directions: Locate the following

regions of the Eastern Hemisphere

and color them as directed.

1. British Isles. A region of islands

located off of the western shores of

Europe. Includes the nations of

the United Kingdom and the

Republic of Ireland. (Red)

2. Western Europe. As the name

implies, this land lies in the

western reaches of the European

continent. It includes the nations

of France and Germany. (Blue)

3. Northern Europe. Also known as

Scandinavia, this region lies in the

northern reaches of Europe and

includes the nations of Norway,

Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and

Iceland. (Yellow

4. Southern Europe. This region lies

to the north of the Mediterranean

Sea and includes the countries of

Spain, Italy, and Greece. (Green)

5. Eastern Europe. This land lies

between the nations of Russia and

Germany. Many different nations

make up this land, including

Poland and the Ukraine. (Orange)

6. Russia. This massive region

includes only one nation—the

Russian Federation. (Purple)

7. Saharan Africa. This is the

northern half of the African

continent. It includes such desert

lands as Egypt, Libya, and

Morocco. (Yellow)

8. Sub-Saharan Africa. This is the

lands in Africa which lie south of

the Sahara Desert. It includes

such nations as South Africa and

Madagascar. (Red)

9. The Middle East & Central Asia.

This land is located in the

southwestern part of Asia.

Currently, the United States has

troops deployed in a number of

nations in this region, including

Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and

Afghanistan. (Blue)

10.South Asia. This land is at the

southern tip of Asia. It includes

the lands of India and Pakistan.

11.Far East Asia. This land is

located in the far eastern part of

Asia. It includes the lands of the

People’s Republic of China,

Mongolia, and North Korea. (Red)

12. Southeast Asia. This land is in

the southeastern part of Asia. It

includes such lands as Vietnam,

Malaysia, and the Philippines.

13.East Asian Tigers. These are tiny

nations located on Asia’s far

eastern shores. They include

South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong,

and Singapore. (Blue)

14.Japan. This is an archipelago of

islands off of the far eastern shore

of Asia. It includes only the

nation of Japan. (Green)

15.Australia & New Zealand. This

region is located southeast of Asia.

As its name implies, this region’s

lands include the English-

speaking nations of Australia and

New Zealand. (Orange)

16.Oceania. This land is located in

the vast stretches of the Pacific

Ocean. It includes the thousands

of islands that dot the Pacific

Ocean. (Green)
