THE PROCLAMATION OF THE WORD
+ The First Reading : Isaiah 57:15-19
+ Psalm 72 (Verses)
Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever.
Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever. O God, with your judgment endow the king, and with your justice, the king’s son; he shall govern your people with justice and your afflicted ones with judgment. Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever. Justice shall flower in his days, and profound peace, till the moon be no more. May he rule from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever. For he shall rescue the poor when he cries out, and the afflicted when he has no one to help him. He shall have pity for the lowly and the poor; the lives of the poor he shall save. Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever. May his name be blessed forever; as long as the sun his name shall remain. In him shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed; all the nations shall proclaim his happiness. Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever.
+ Second Reading : 1 Timothy 2:1-6
Gradual Hymn/Acclamation
+ THE HOLY GOSPEL : John 14:23-29

Episcopal Church. Please feel free to celebrate with us.

ward with hands together and head bowed as a sign to the
priest).
PRAYER REQUESTS
We pray...for grace to be Jesus’ hands, feet, voice, eyes & heart in the world...that we all may LIVE and BE the GOOD NEWS.
OUR WORLD
For justice and peace in the Holy Land and, indeed, the world over. For an end to hatred in all its forms. For our fellow Christians and all who are persecuted for their faith.
OUR COMMUNION
Pray for the peace and unity of the Church. Pray for our brothers and sisters of the Church in Cuba : Bishop Griselda Delgado del Carpio.
OUR DIOCESE
In response to a call from the Archbishops of Central American & Mexico...this from our Primus: Scot-land is a country that is known for its hospitality and concern for human rights. Over the years we have seen many of own people migrate across the seas to all corners of the earth. Today, migration remains an issue with which we continue to grapple. As Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church, I call upon people in our churches to hold in prayer our most vulnerable brothers and sisters travelling with the Caravan, and for those involved in seeking a resolution to the difficulties that lie ahead. For those of us who are follow-ers of Christ, we have a duty to remember those crying out for safe harbour and support, whether in the Americas or in Europe. In them, we see the Crucified Christ most clearly.
For Mark, our Bishop and for our brothers and sisters who work in & support our Foodbanks...and for all whom the benefit. Pray for our sister Dioceses (Quebec, Canada & Tuam, Killala and Achonry, Ireland).

A DAILY PRAYER for the WEEK
In the Church, God has made known to us his hidden purpose: to make all things one in Christ. Let us pray that his will may be done. – Father, unite all things in Christ. We give you thanks for the presence and power of your Spirit in the Church: give us the will to search for unity, and inspire us to pray and work together. – Father, unite all things in Christ. We give you thanks for all whose work proclaims your love: help us to serve the communities in whose life we share. – Father, unite all things in Christ. Father, care for all who serve in the Church as ministers of your word and sacraments: may they bring your whole family to the unity for which Christ prayed. – Father, unite all things in Christ. Your people have known the ravages of war and hatred: grant that they may know the peace left by your Son. – Father, unite all things in Christ. Fulfil the hopes of those who sleep in your peace: bring them to that final resurrection when you will be all in all. - Father, unite all things in Christ. In a moment of silence, call to mind the concerns of your own heart with those listed above and lift them up to God.
Conclude with the Lord’s Prayer

REVERSE ADVENT CALENDAR
Over the past few years many have found the reverse Advent calendar to be a blessing in their pre Christmas preparations...as it challenges us to be more mindful of those less fortunate than ourselves.
Because we need to have our gifts in to the Food Bank in early December for distribution, would those who wish to participate this year please begin to collect on item a day for their box-es...STARTING SUNDAY 11 NOV... until 2 DEC.....on Sunday the 2 Dec, bring what you have collected so we can bless your gifts and pass them on to the Food Bank for distribution. A list of sug-gested goodies is available in the emailed newsletter and a printed version in the back of the church.
MANY THANKS!

Thought for today
In known and unknown graves they rest,
The young, the bravest and the best.
They too loved well what life could give
And yet they died that we might live.
Twice in half a hundred years
The price was paid ion blood and tears,
Twice we faced the German threat
Twice the challenge has been met.
Let not memory’s lamp burn low,
As generations come and go
Sing out their glorious requiem.
Remember them, Remember them.

The Primus
receives Honorary Doctorate
The Most Rev Mark Strange, Bishop of Moray, Ross & Caithness and Primus of the Scot-tish Episcopal Church recently visited the School of Theology at The University of the South in Tennessee. The visit included meetings with members of the Faculty, discussing the historic links between the Scottish Episcopal Church and the University and looking at potential new links. Bishop Mark addressed the Convocation Dinner and on 12 October was delighted to receive an honorary Doctor of Divinity from the University in recogni-tion of his ministry and of those historic links. Bishop Mark had also been invited, on be-half of the Scottish Episcopal Church, to meet with Trinity Church, Wall Street. During this visit Bishop Mark shared reflections of ministry and mission in the Scottish Episcopal Church and how we take the love of God into the world and respond to the task to love God and love our neighbour as ourselves.
