Lebedyan is a part of Lipetsk regionAs Lebedyan does not belong to Tambov region anymore, its symbols

have to be changed.

The old coat-of-arms was adopted in 1781. On the blue background in the top half of the rectangular one can see a beehive on the green ground with three golden bees flying over it. It's a part of Tambov's coat-of-arms. The point is Lebedyan belonged to Tambov region where beekeeping was highly-developed. In the bottom half of the coat-of-arms there was a white swan which gave its name to a town.

In the centre of the new coat-of-arms there is a swan which symbolizes constancy (верность), true and pure (чистая) love. The blue background shows the geographical position of the town which is situated on the great Russian river Don. Blue is a symbol of peace (мир), glory (слава), loyalty (преданность), sincerity (искренность) and honesty (четность). The swan itself is silver (серебряный), this colour symbolizes wisdom (мудрость), nobleness (благородство), peace, mutual (взаимное) cooperation (сотрудничество). The golden colour on the coat-of-arms symbolizes intelligence (ум), richness (богатство), strength (сила), greatness (величие), generosity (щедрость).
