#6 Planning a Publication with Thumbnails

I am very glad that I learned the step by step process to planning a publication because without these steps I could have easily got overwhelmed by designing my brochure. The thumbnails allowed me to try all of the different deigns and ideas on paper before trying to put everything into InDesign.

#5 InDesign Stroke borders

When making my brochure I wanted to include pictures... They did not look right without some type of border. I finally found the stroke option when changing the color of the borders. It allowed me to pick from several borders, the thickness, color, and made the photos stand out!

#4 Logo Types

Logo types are very important through designing any type of publication for a business or company. It should be a design the reflects the organization and art is often used with text. Logos are so important because it is n every type of publication for the company, so it is essential that you do good research about the company and the publics it is trying to reach when designing a logo.

#3 Letterhead & Business Card

It was very helpful learning how to design both of these publications. InDesign had a lot of creative options to use as well as picking out your font and a art/picture to use. It was also helpful to know what information to put on which publication because it is very similar, but different.

#2 Unity

Unity is the ability for all items in a layout to appear as one visual unit. After this semester, I realized that in each publication that I have designed, unity a very important factor. It entails everything in the publication: photos, text, layout, color scheme, so they all work together. This allows the readers to see it as one unit and find it easy to on the eye and clear to read.

#1 Language of Image

I loved taking this FREE course online and learning about different types of images! There were multiple examples to get a good understanding of the concept of the different aspects of photographs. Now that I know about the site I can use it for other classes, or on my free time to learn something new
