History of the university

1998. The University of Southern Denmark is formed in a merger between

Odense University (established in 1966) Odense University Library Southern Denmark School of Business and Engineering University Centre of Southern Jutland

2004. Merger between the University of Southern Denmark and Department of Border Region Studies, Aabenraa (IFG)

2006. Merger between the University of Southern Denmark and Danish Centre of Rural Research and Development, Esbjerg (CFUL) Odense University College of Engineering, Odense (IOT)

2007. Merger between the University of Southern Denmark and National Institute of Public Health, Copenhagen (SIF) Business School Centre, Slagelse (HHC) Research Unit of Maritime Medicine, Esbjerg (FMM)
