Tête-à-tête graphs and Seifert manifolds
Abstract: In this talk, we will introduce the notion of tête-à-tête graph (an original idea by A'Campo). This kind of graph is given by purely combinatorial data: a ribbon graph together with some decoration (a positive rational number on each edge of the graph) satisfying a certain checkable condition. This data codifies the topology of an orientable surface with boundary together with a periodic mapping class of the surface. We will discuss some generalizations of these graphs as well as some applications to the study of Seifert manifolds and their horizontal surfaces.
This is joint work with Javier Fernández de Bobadilla and María Pe Pereira.
