INTRODUCTION

True worship

is the cure to doing

really stupid things!

1. How Do We Worship?

(Part 1)

The Activities of Worship

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; 1a

Let us shout aloud to the Rock of our

salvation.1b

Let us come before Him with thanksgiving

and 2a

[Let us] extol Him with music & song. 2b

2. Why Do We Worship?

A. His Status

For the LORD is the great God, 3a

The great King above all gods. 3b

B. His Accomplishments

• In his hand are…

3. How Do We Worship?

(Part 2)

A. More Activities of Worship

B. More of His Accomplishments

1. His Care For His People

• For He is our God and… 7a

2. His Counsel To His People

a. Listening Prescribed

Today, if you hear his voice,

b. Stubbornness To Be Resisted

do not harden your hearts 8a

as you did at Meribah, 8b

as you did that day at Massah in the desert, 8c

where your fathers tested and tried me, 9a

though they had seen what I did. 9b

c. Consequences To Be Avoided

For forty years I was angry with that generation; 10a

I said, “They are a people whose hearts go astray, and 10b

They have not known my ways.” 10c

So I declared on oath in my anger,

“They shall never enter my rest.” 11

Warning for today, Hebrews 3:7-11…

7 So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his

voice,

8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion,

during the time of testing in the desert,

9 where your fathers tested and tried me and for forty

years saw what I did.

10 That is why I was angry with that generation, and I

said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they

have not known my ways.’

11 So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never

enter my rest.’”
