The Hardy Family Chronicles II

A Tale of Several Sims. The Blue Diamond – Part 3

Twins Andrew and Richard seem to get on well enough, but definitely have their own personalities. Andrew takes risks and plays without a care in the world, while Richard is a bit more thoughtful – even as a toddler.

One evening, Hannah has to leave her young sons to rush to her mums side. Lee has died in his sleep, and her mother Kathy needs her immediately.

Hannah consoles her mother as best she can, she is also grieving for her once brilliant father.

It had been a life worth living.

That's the least of her worries though, as she seems to be pregnant again.

Her boss Zelda is not happy, and tells her she no longer has a job to return to with her. Hannah isn’t worried, confident that when she returns to work, her music will be just as popular.

Nine months later, and Hannah is ready to pop.

Her life has just gotten a lot more complicated. As well her twin sons who are a right handful as they get up to all sorts of mischief exploring their world...

...she now has three daughters to contend with. She’s given birth to triplets; Rachael, Laura and Jo-anne Oseguera.

She isn’t sure she’ll be able to cope with five children. Twins was enough for anyone, but twins and triplets?! She hadn’t even had any fertility treatment.

Luckily she still has Jesse, her rock. Somehow, they’ll cope.

Unlike Hannah with her worries, Jakes life couldn’t get much better at present. He’s completed his lifetime wish to become an astronaut, the tip top of his career path.

So that evening, he takes Holly back to the restaurant where they had their first date to celebrate.

And to pop the question! He reckons there can be no doubt in her mind, or in her fathers mind, that he’s a good prospect. And he’s right, Holly accepts.

Holly stays over that night. She explained to Jake earlier her fears that a huge wedding would turn into a media event when her parents get involved. They decide to sleep on it, figure out a way around it.

Eloping may not have been the wisest decision ever made, but it suits them both. Jake had the family wedding with Heidi, and it didn’t go well. Holly just wanted something to be wholly about her, and not her family.

Back in Hannah’s household, and it’s a double birthday as Andrew and Richard grow from toddlers into children. Andrew and Richard get their own cake each, and blow out the candles.

Now the boys can talk the two of them can really get to know each other.

They have plenty of opportunity, as they do everything together, at home and at school. And although as twins they have much in common, their differences become increasingly obvious.

Richard was a quiet, steady kind of boy, who reminded Hannah of his uncle Jake. Andrew on the other hand was often loud and impulsive, fonder of violent computer games than hobbies.

Andrew was more popular amongst the other sim kids as she had been. He drew people to him , a natural leader. Richard hung about on the edge of this group of friends, content for now.

But then Richard met Sadie. She moved in down the street and he saw in her an opportunity for a friend that liked him, not his louder brother.

They were soon hanging out most days. Sadie, it turned out, was something of an outsider as well.

Sadie was glad to have Richard, her parents were always fighting, and she didn’t usually find it easy to make friends. So she was wary of their friendship, in case it blew away.

One evening Hannah gets a phone call. A friend of her old boss Zelda was a fan of the blue diamond years ago and wants her to play a private party.

Hannah dyes her hair and dresses up, but it doesn’t feel right. She can still fit into the dress, and she can pull it off, but she’s a mum now. Acting like she’s young free and single seems like a denial of her family. This will be the last night she performs in this way.

So she takes once more to the streets in a more comfortable outfit, with an image she felt suited her more as she is. Not as she was.

Her new strategy works. In no time at all her act is back on the road, and on her terms. No dressing up in red outfits, she is the blue diamond through and through. Her career has taken in a new lease of life at last.

The flip side of her return to showbiz is that she is no longer at home full time. A babysitter is required to look after her five children. Andrew does not react well.

It seems he takes after his mother in her early years, he often sneaks out of the house when the babysitter isn’t looking to meet up with his friends.

The girls are growing up fast, and are now toddlers. Jesse wishes he and Hannah could spend more time with them, but he’s reaching the top of his career path too, so spare time is sparse for both of them

The triplets enjoyed their toddler years, talking, playing and learning together.

It’s a quiet existence for the Oseguera children. They are left behind when their mum goes on tour and their dad is off founding new restaurants. Under such circumstances they all bond closely.

Unfortunately being so close means that Andrew becomes jealous of Richards friendship with Sadie. Andrew may have loads of friends, but none of them come close to what Richard has with her.

So he tried to keep Richard busy with him, leaving Sadie on the outside.

But it doesn't work, Richard prizes Sadie’s friendship too much to be distracted for long. He’ll have to come up with a new strategy to separate them.
