Statistics |2WSTAT||EXITSTAT| [DATA] ISTATVAR]

1-VAR analyzes statisticaldata from 1 data set with1measured variable, x.2-VAR stats analyzes paireddatafrom 2 data sets with 2 measured variables—x, theindependent variable, andy, thedependent variable. Youcan enter up to 42 data sets.

Todefine statistical data points:1. Pressfjnd] [STAT], Select1-VAR or2-VAR and press

Variables Definition

n Number of xor (x,y) data points.

xory Meanofallx or yvalues.

Sx orSy Samplestandard deviation ofx or y.

ox oroy Population standarddeviation of x or y.

ZxorZy Sum of all xoryvalues.Sx2or£y2 Sum of all x2 or y2 values.Zxy Sumof(x* y)for all xypairs.

Linear regression slope.

Linear regressiony-intercept.

Correlation coefficient.

x' (2-VAR) Uses a and b to calculate predictedx valuewhenyou input a y value.

y' (2-VAR) Uses a and 6 to calculatepredicted y valuewhenyou input an xvalue.

Probability

npr Calculates thenumber ofpossible permutationsofn itemstaken rat a time, givennand r.Theorder of objects is important, asin a race.

nCr Calculates thenumber ofpossible combinationsof n items taken rat a time, given n and r. Theorderofobjectsis not important, as ina hand ofcards.

I Afactorial is the product ofthepositive integersfrom1 to n. n must be a positivewhole number <69.

rand Generatesa random realnumberbetween0 and1. To control a sequence of random numbers, storean integer(seed value)> 0 to rand. Theseed value changes randomlyevery timearandomnumber is generated.

RANDI Generatesa random integerbetween 2 integers,Aand 6, where A< RANDI < 6. Separate the 2integers witha comma.

EQUATION LENGTH error —Anentryexceeds the digitlimits (88forEntry Line and47 for Stator Constant Entrylines); forexample, combining an entrywith a constantthatexceeds the limit.

FRQ DOMAIN — FRQ value (in1-VAR stats) < 0 or >99, ornot an integer.

OVERFLOW —18|> 1e10,where6 is an angle ina trig, hyperbolic, or R>Pr( function.

STAT —

• Pressing IstatvarI withno defineddata points.• When not in STAT mode, pressingIdataI,IstatvarI, or

[2nd] [EXIT STATl.

SYNTAX —Thecommand contains a syntaxerror: enteringmorethan 23 pending operations or8 pending values;orhaving misplaced functions, arguments, parentheses, orcommas.

Battery Replacement

1. Usinga smallPhillips screwdriver, removescrews fromback case.

2. Remove protective cover. Starting from the bottom, carefully separate frontfrom back. Caution:Be carefulnotto damageany internal parts.

3. Using a smallPhillips screwdriver (ifnecessary),removeoldbattery; replacewith newone.
