TIRA ORA The name given to this 550
acre piece of paradise, by the
indigenous Maori people who
lived here a century ago.
Tira Ora means a place for
travellers to find rest,
sustenance, and health. As
true today as it was a century
ago.
A Trust purchased Tira Ora in
1999, and for the last decade
has hosted guests and
visitors from all over the
world.
Adventurers. young and old,
have stayed at Tira Ora in
order to learn and share what
they are able about
sustainable development, in
order to preserve the beauty
of the land and sea,
The cultural exchanges have
been predictably positive, by
setting the ground rules of
respect for each other.
We have had people from
countries at war sit down
together at table, and live
side-by-side, concentrating
on what we have in common,
instead of our differences.
Our peace is maintained by
following the guidelines of the
10 Commandments.
FUN FILLED DAYS
RELAXING NIGHTS Tira Ora offers you a range of land, sea and air activities. Many are free, some have a small charge to cover materials,
resources, and instructors’ time.
Tour operaters can also be con-
tacted for scenic flights around
our area by plane, float plane,
or helicopter.
Deep sea fishing excursions
can also be booked.
PADI Diving Courses can be
arranged for groups of 5 or
more.
Ballroom and salsa dancing
instructions can be arranged.
At the end of each day you will
look forward to going to sleep in
your luxurious private chalet.
The adventurous can pick from staying in a teepee, fishing hut, tent, or the hay loft co-housing area. Whatever lifestyle
you choose, you will be enriched as a person by shifting out of your comfort zone, and moving closer to nature, and
kind-hearted people. There is zero crime at Tira Ora. That is something we need to maintain together, for the sake of our
children, and with respect to our elders.
