He!o"om Wa!a Wa!a!
Greetings to Alumni and friends of Whitman TKE! My name is Chris
Perkins and I currently serve as the Histor for the Alpha!Theta chapter atWhitman College. It is with pleasure that I report on current events
within the chapter and hopefully continue to cultivate a lasting
relationship with the TKE House.
TKE continues to have a strong, meaningful presence at Whitman. Our
size alone makes us a huge force on campus, and Im continually impressed
with the involvement of fraters on campus. Whether on the debate team,
ASWC, or on numerous sports teams including baseball, basketball,
soccer, and ultimate frisbee, TKE leadership runs strong.

Greetings from the Board ofAdvisors!Alpha!Thetas ongoing chapter operationsare overseen by a dedicated group ofvolunteer TKE alums, collectively acting as ahousing corporation incorporated in theState of Washington. Historically referredto as the chapters Board of Advisors#Board$, the Board has five mainresponsibilities:
1. Promote fraternity, scholarship, leadership and moral standardsamong the undergraduate membersof Alpha Theta chapter.
2. Supervise the finances of the chapter.3. Manage and improve the property
and buildings owned by theAlphaThetaAssociation of Tau Kappa Epsilon#the formal name of the housingcorporation$.
4. Working in conjunction with theundergraduate members electedleadership team, help coordinate theactivities of the undergraduatechapter members.
5. Provide mentorship to theundergraduate chapter members.
In the absence of a formally charteredAlumni Association, the Board also hassome measure of responsibility for
maintaining communications with theAlpha Theta alumni base #although thisundertaking has historically been led bythe undergraduate chapter$.
The Board is currently comprised ofeight directors residing throughout thePacific Northwest, who serve in thefollowing capacities:
President/Treasurer%Norm Swick #71$Vice President%Jason Smith #97$Secretary%Brian Holtzclaw #88$Chapter Advisor%Chris Grasso #Alpha Tau/DrexelUniversity %74$Members at large%Mike Barr #77$, Brian Kitamura

In accordance with the By!Laws #adopted in 2012$, theBoard consists of not less than six and no more than tendirectors. Each director is elected to athree!year termof o"ceand may be re!elected for up to twoadditional termssubject to meeting certainconditions. Terms of o&ce are staggered over a three!year period to ensure continuity of the Board.
Given the geographic dispersion of the Board, itsactivities are conducted through a combination of directengagement with the undergraduate chapter members, phone calls, and emails. The Board itself conductsformal meetings by phone once a quarter and holdselections of its o&cers annually.
The Board is currently seeking one or twoadditional members to be elected at its upcomingAnnual Meeting in July 2014. Although a genuineinterest in giving back to Alpha Theta is the preeminentqualification for consideration as a prospectivecandidate, we are actively looking for #younger$alums
who have active experience/expertise in the financial andproperty management fields. Any alum interested inlearning more about the Board of Advisors and/orexpressing his willingness to be considered as a candidateshould direct his inquiry to Norm Swick at
