Promoting the 3 pillars at all times Mentoring & Tutoring

Expectations are for everyday

Academic Eligibility

To participate in school athletic practices and games, the student must; 1. be in good standing regarding grades and not on suspension, 2. be present 4 out of 6 classes on the day of the activity, and if the

activity is on a Saturday, be present in school on the preceding Friday 4 out of 6 classes.

Ineligible students are expected to attend all athletic activities in the non-uniform attire approved by the coach, but may NOT wear the team’s uniform or participate in the activity. Additionally, students ineligible will not be allowed to wear their team jersey on school spirit days.

The following eligibility protocol will be used throughout the season:3. 1st Week (Probation) = Athlete will be placed on “Academic Probation” 4. 2nd Week (Ineligible Card) = Athlete will be “Ineligible” if after the first

week the athlete has not raised the failing grade a minimum of one letter grade. Ineligible athletes will need to complete the following:• Athlete will receive a ineligible card and a eligibility checklist form

that will need to be completed by the teacher and coach during the process.

3. 3rd Week (Dismissal) = Athletes still ineligible on the 3rd consecutive week of grades checks will be removed from the team.

Note: Athletes that do not adhere to the required eligibility items (forms turning in to the coach , etc.) will be immediately removed from the team.

JUNIOR HIGH TRYOUT PROCESS

5TH-8th Grade boys and girls try-outs will be held differently based off seasons:

• All athletes must be cleared to attend try-outs• Cleared means: season paperwork,

physicals, risk and release, and eligible by grades.

• Any athletes that have potential for a higher level team will attend JH practices and be

asked to move up on a later date.

• Couple of questions I would like to answer:1. Why 5 days a week for practices?2. Why team pictures on Saturday?

3. Why do they need to travel together?

HIGH SCHOOL TRYOUT PROCESS

Varsity level athletes (9th-12th Grade and athletes asked to move up)

• All athletes must be cleared to attend try-outs• Cleared means: season paperwork,

physicals, risk and release, and eligible by grades.

• Couple of questions I would like to answer:1. Why can students from others schools play on

our team?2. Why team pictures on Saturday?

Student-athletes may then ride with their parent/guardian.

Student-athletes may not ride with other

I will not verbally or physically abuse, confront, taunt, harass or demean a coach, student-athlete, opposing student-athlete or coach, or referee at any time.4. If I have questions regarding my athlete, I understand there must be a 24-hour cooling off period before talking to the coach or the Athletic Director.5. I understand parents cannot coach their child or other student-athletes from the sideline or anywhere else during scrimmages, practices, or games.6. I will follow the “chain of command” to lodge a complaint.

• If the player-coach meeting doesn’t solve the issue, a meeting will be scheduled with the parents, player, and coach.

• All other issues (other than playing time) should be communicated to the coach.7. I will not conspire with other parents to undermine the authority of any coach, the program or the department.8.
