2 THOMSON FAMILY ADVENTURES
Why we do what we do
In 1998, no one had the faintest concept of family travel; kids were
simply part of the baggage and expected to go along with whatever
the adults did. This created the perfect challenge for us. We wanted
our children Nicole and Erica to grow up with their own curiosity and
passion for different cultures and landscapes. Twenty years ago, no
one even dreamed of an easy way for a family to get out of the theme
park and off the beaten path for a more meaningful experience.
So, we did it; first to Tanzania, then to Costa Rica, the Galapagos
Islands and Peru — all dynamic and rewarding experiences for
families, even today. Over the years we’ve added to the list, now
offering more than 30 destinations around the globe across every
continent, each a wonder to unwrap with your family. We make it
simple; you don’t have to lift a finger!
There are now three generations of Wineland-Thomsons exploring
the world together. Seeing our daughters take up the mantle and
travel with their kids has been so exciting. And we promise traveling
as grandparents is an experience not to be missed. It’s thrilling to
see life through our children’s lens. They keep us sharp and excited
about the wonders of the world; they teach us something new and
precious with every experience we share.

can’t take them home with you!)
Do you know about our rafikis? They’re local Captains of Fun with

more guests to break the ice and make sure kids and teens are
engaged and having fun.
What’s more, our unique Friends Across Borders program puts you

will develop worldwide friendships and deepen their international
connection. We’ve spent over two decades fostering relationships

8 THOMSON FAMILY ADVENTURES
All kinds of family, all kinds of fun
We celebrate all kinds of family. One parent, two parents, grandparents
– no parents! Maybe aunts, uncles, friends. Multiple generations or
split generations. Family comes in many diverse forms, all wrapped
together by love.
We love that.
What is the definition of adventure? Maybe zip-lining and rafting
– maybe sipping tea, gazing over an exotic vista. Maybe a trek in
the mountains or a stroll through historic temples. It could be in the
jungle, it could be on the beach. We do it all, from wild to serene and
everything in between.
Small, sociable family? Join a group of like-minded families. Big, shy
or complicated family? Plan a private adventure. Want to travel with
other solo parents? Sure thing. Looking for the diversity of all ages
and perspectives? We have that too.
Whether you’re looking for a tried and true itinerary or something
created just for you, we have your back. And it’s all so simple! We
know how to keep everyone entertained and taken care of, no
matter your interest and ability. You just show up and have fun.
