Innovative method of teaching basic Science at all levels Specially Physics and Inspire to use the
concepts in popularize science & technology Innovations
Initiated by
Senior Resource Person(SRP) of Utsahi Physics Teachers, coordinated by Prof. H. C.Verma
(A Group evolved through IIT Kanpur Initiative Project)
National Anvesika Network of India(NANI)- Indian Association of Physics Teachers
Prof. H.C.Verma( Coordinator-Utsahi Physics Teachers and also National Coordinator-NANI),
IITKanpur and His SRP’S in Nationwide movement for Revitilazation of Science education
specially Physics education & Related Innovations at all levels
Senior Resource Persons (SRP) are teachers who have attended several NWUPTs( National workshops of
utsahi Physics teachers at IIT Kanpur) and are very active in training other teachers & students in Physics
Teaching Workshops in their regions throgh low cost experiments. Anveshikas are centers for developing
innovative experiments related to Physics teaching and learning, and promoting experiment-based Physics
teaching and Research. Since It can be realized that experiments can make the basic concepts of science specially
Physics easier to comprehend at all levels of the study. An important component of this workshop is the low cost
and easy to make short experiments which can lead to deeper analysis and learning of Science principles. There are
23 Anveshikas in India working under the umbrella of National Anveshika Network of India (NANI) of Indian
Association of Physics Teachers, under the leadership of Prof. H.C.Verma,m IIT Kanpur.
IAPT is an organization committed to upgrade the quality of Physics Education and related innovation in India at all
levels. Started in 1984, it has more than 6000 life members and is a workforce to implement a number of
programmes enriching Physics education and related innovations. Generally each SRP have own anvesika Center.

Impact Assesment -In this method of teaching students hear, watch, read, absorb and in most cases accept
everything unconditionally involve observing, questioning, critically examining, correlating, getting
challenging ideas and experimentally verifying them as far as practicable. Theory classes in Fundamental
and applied sciences at all levels, especially Physics classes are normally dull and laden with mathematics.
Often a communication gap develops between the students and the teacher. Students often stop following
the class and very little meaningful learning takes place. This situation can be changed by the use of small
low cost experiments as classroom demonstrations that arouse the curiosity of students who then begin
asking questions. This way they become active learners. In last 10 years, we have conducted more than 50
workshops with the help of such experiments. Nearly 25 teachers and students have persue their
profession in Science and research. M.Sc/B.Tech students and Faculty members of schools and higher
education Instituations embibe the spirit and devlope to use the basic concept in real life situation. This is
like a capsule test to measure the learning outcomes of Science/ Engineering students to sharpen their
skills before they Graduate or Post-graduate. We have made these demonstrations in rural as well as city
schools, U.G, P.G and even Ph. D classes. Such demonstration experiments have generated interest, joy of
learning and given the students a motive to discover the scientific principles involved and Inspired for
research & Devlopement. This innovative method of learning science, supplement this move by helping
create interest in basic understanding in science without which cutting edge research/ Subject i.e
nanoscience, Cognitive Science, Biotechnology is not at all possible.
