A quick tutorial I made in response to a student question about sharing references in RefWorks. It illustrates the steps involved in using shared reference folders to transfer records from one RefWorks account to another.

TRANSFERING REFERENCES FROM ONE REFWORKS ACCOUNT TO

ANOTHER USING REFSHARE

Slide Tutorial by John Pell, Librarian at the CUNY School of Public Health

at Hunter College.

Click on the “Organize & Share Folders” tab.

Click on the “Share Folder” icon.

(The one with the little arrow going out of it.)

Click “Share.”

Copy this URL

Click “Save.”

Close this pop-up.

Log out.

Login to the account that you want to transfer your shared references to.

Remember that URL you copied back on slide #6? Paste that into your address bar and hit the Enter

key.

Boom! The references have been added as shared folder, but they are

not completely transferred yet.

Select the items to transfer. If you are transferring the whole

list, select “All in list.”

Click the “Save references into your account” icon.

To complete the transfer, just click the “Save References” button in the pop-up

and you will be finished.
