Transparency International (TI) is a non-governmentalorganization that monitors and publicizes corporate and politicalcorruption in international development.
TI is founded in Germany in May 1993 as a not-for-profitorganization, now it is an international non-governmentalorganization.
It publishes an annual Global CorruptionBarometer and Corruption Perceptions Index, a comparativelisting of corruption worldwide.
The headquarter is located in Berlin, Germany.2

GUIDING PRINCIPLES
As coalition-builders, TI will work cooperatively with allindividuals and groups, with for-profit and not-for-profitcorporations and organizations, and with governments andinternational bodies committed to the fight against corruption,subject only to the policies and priorities set by our governingbodies.
TI undertake to be open, honest and accountable in TI relationshipswith everyone TI work with, and with each other.
TI will be democratic, politically non-partisan and non-sectarian inwork. 4
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
TI will condemn bribery and corruption vigorously wherever it hasbeen reliably identified.
The positions TI take will be based on sound, objective andprofessional analysis and high standards of research.
TI will only accept funding that does not compromise ability toaddress issues freely, thoroughly and objectively.
TI will provide accurate and timely reports activities to theirstakeholders.
TI will respect and encourage respect for fundamental humanrights and freedom. 5

FUNDING AND FINANCIALS
Transparency International receives funding from a range ofdonors, including government agencies, multilateral institutions,foundations, the private sector and individuals.
Funding may be unrestricted or tied to specific projects orprograms.
It is Transparency International’s policy to accept funding –whether monetary or in kind – from any donor, provided thatacceptance does not impair our independence to pursue our missionor endanger our integrity and reputation.
