New Finance Reports

• The new Finance Reports, released in August, were developed based on input from a working group comprised of several Faculty/Unit Budget Officers and representatives from Financial Services

• One of the goals in creating these reports was to take advantage of new functionality available in Cognos 8 – in particular, drill-through links and multiple display options

• Like the original finance standard reports, the focus of these reports is operating data; eFIN continues to be the primary source for research data

• The original finance reports are still available

New Finance Reports• Questions or ideas for future enhancements can be

communicated to Enterprise Reporting via the UCIT Support Centre (220-5555 or itsupport@ucalgary.ca or the ticket link on the reports)

• Instructions for the Finance Reports are available online through the User Guide link on the Finance Reports Menu

• Training in the use of the Finance Reports is offered by Enterprise Reporting on a regular basis every other Monday afternoon. Register by logging a ticket through the UCIT Support Centre

The Student Dashboard

Student Dashboard• The Student Dashboard was developed with the assistance of

Graduate Studies, Enrolment Services, and the Office of Institutional Analysis.

• The purpose for the dashboard is to provide a high level analysis of application, admission and enrolment counts. The goal is to provide a common methodology for determining these metrics.

• It is currently being deployed to all Deans, Associate Deans, Senior Executive, and Department Heads. These individuals have the ability to request access for delegates who report to them.

• Requests for enhancements and new reports are being collected by trainers. Additional and revised reports are being developed and will be released in the future.

HR Standard Reports

A recently completed project has seen the creation of:

• A set of Human Resources standard reports providing information in the following areas were created:

– Employee Job/ Appointment Information – Employee Leaves of Absences – Expiring Appointments – Staff Counts

• These reports are available to authorized HR Managers and Administrators within Faculties and Departments. An initial group has been selected as a pilot group for initial roll out. Further information will be provided by Human Resources regarding the availability of these reports in your area.
