point of view

the perspective from which a story or poem is told.

synonyms: angle, viewpoint, outlook

first-person point of view

The narrator is a character in the story using first-person pronouns such as “I” and “we” to tell what he or she sees or knows.

third-person point of view

The narrator is someone outside the story using third-person pronouns such as “he”, “she”, or “they” to tell the story.
