[05/10/2017]Milwaukee–UnitedWayofGreaterMilwaukee&WaukeshaCountyannouncedtodaythecommencementofanactivePresidentandCEOsearchfortheorganization.AsearchcommitteewillconductacomprehensivesearchtoidentifyandattracttopcandidatesforthesuccessorofMaryLouYoung,whoannouncedthatshewillretirefromUnitedWayaftereightyearsofservice.MaryLouhasdemonstratedimpressiveleadershipskillsandcommunitykindnesssinceshejoinedUnitedWayin2009.SheledthetransformationofourUnitedWayintoacollaborativecommunityleaderthathasbeenadrivingforceforsocialchange.UnderMaryLou’sleadershiptheorganizationsawsubstantialgrowthwiththeannualcampaignreachingunprecedentedheightsfrom$45.5millionin2009toover$60millionin2016,includingthesuccessfulintegrationoftheUnitedWayinWaukeshaCounty.PriortojoiningUnitedWay,MaryLouheadedGlobalCommunityRelationsforRockwellAutomationwhereshemanagedRockwell’sphilanthropicbudget,whichinvestedincommunitydevelopmentandtechnologyeducationworldwide.MaryLouretiredfromRockwellAutomationin2009.ThesearchcommitteewillcompriseUnitedWayofGreaterMilwaukee&WaukeshaCountyOfficersoftheBoard,includingChairGregMarcus,ViceChairCoryNettles,TreasurerBruceMcDonald,SecretaryLynnSprangers,ImmediatePastChairDavidLubar,andLaborCouncilRepresentativeSheilaCochran.“SinceJulyof2009,MaryLouhasbeenthedrivingforcebehindsomanysuccessfulimpactstrategiesandpartnershipsthatexistinourcommunity,”saidGregMarcus,presidentandCEOofTheMarcusCorporationandcurrentchairmanoftheUnitedWayofGreaterMilwaukee&WaukeshaCountyBoard.“Oursearchcommitteewilllookforastrong,vibrantcandidateforPresidentandCEO.Someonewhocanbuildonthesuccessoftheorganization,andleadstrategicandcollaborativedevelopmenttoadvancethemissionintheyearsahead.”
