of you!

GRAD NIGHT PARTY VOLUN-

TEERS: After a year of planning, we

are just days away from the big

celebration! Please join us on

Monday, May 9, 2016 at 6:00 PM for a tour of the R/UHS North

Gym. We will show you the ven-

ue, explain the timeline and the lay

out of the party, and answer ques-

tions. We will meet in the library

at 6:00 PM and walk over to the

North Gym together. Please

park in the lot off of 5th

Street. Feel free to contact

gradnight@uhs-pa.org with com-

ments or questions.

UHS is up for accreditation this fall! This is a process that all public schools go through every 5 years. Please help us complete this process by completing this survey which is a required component of accreditation. I know you have been surveyed to death this year, but we would appreciate your will-ingness to complete this survey before school gets out: http://eprovesurveys.advanc-ed.org/surveys/#/action/5861/11521

Amy Cislak, Principal

Penguin Families,

AP Exams started on

Monday! Thank you to

everyone who volunteered

to help make things run

smoothly! I am aware of

the complications with the

AP Spanish Language Ex-

am. Apparently this

happened nation

wide. I have filed a strongly

worded complaint on behalf of

UHS and TUSD. I appreciate

everyone’s advocacy and help on

this issue! You do not need to

call the attendance office to

excuse your student if they are

taking an AP exam—we are pre-

excusing them for you!

If you are helping a sport or fine

art Boost Club, please see the

flyer in this issue about a Tax

Credit Workshop the district is

sponsoring to help you increase and

promote tax credit donations for your

organization! This is a great oppor-

tunity!

We still have some room in summer

school for geometry and health. Please get your application in ASAP! They are

located in the UHS office with Ms.

Donna Walker.

Extra Graduation Tickets are

Now Available for those families

who would like additional gradua-

tion tickets. This is the procedure to

request extra tickets: Email dean-

na.mcdonald@tusd1.org with the

subject line EXTRA GRAD TICKETS

In the body of the email put the fol-

lowing: Student Name, Parent Name,

Number of tickets requested (please

limit your request to what you need

up to 3 tickets), Send this email no

later than Friday, May 6 at midnight

From the list of requests, Mrs.

McDonald will use a random pro-

cess to order the list. Once the list is

ordered, tickets will be issued begin-

ning at the top of the list and continu-

ing down the list until all tickets have

been issued. You will receive an email

letting you know whether or not you

were drawn to get extra tickets.

If your student is interested in receiv-

ing a parking permit next year,

please have them stop by the finance

office ASAP to complete a parking

permit form.

Exchange students from Lindlar, Germany, a small town just

south of Cologne, visited Rincon University High School from

March 17th to April 5th. They lived with families of students over

this two and a half week period. GAPP, the German American

Partnership Program, requires that the students complete a

project during this exchange period. This year’s project was a

spin-off of the popular YouTube series The Jim and Alex Show,

where a German and American discusses the various differences
