“Unlearning” Myths

Large Dominant Image
Simple phrases in three fonts or less, readable from 6 feet away
A main slogan that sends the message or attempts to “unlearn” the myth(s)
Some empty or white space, so that the eye can rest
A light or calm coloured background
A logical eye flow working from image to the text and through the phrases
Use active verbs as opposed to phrases with “to be”

• Select an affinity group/issue for whom/which there are misconceptions or myths
• List the “mythconceptions”• Identify a message or “truth” behind the
“mythconception”• Identify phrases, images or messages that could
lead viewers to unlearn the myth• Identify a slogan that captures all what you want
to say on the print material• Plan the print material/layout, using the
requirements/guidelines
