A member of a nation Loyal to their nation Rights are protected by the nation’s
government
We show our loyalty as citizens when we say the
Pledge of Allegiance

Who are citizens?The Law of the Soil:
Automatically a citizen, if born
on the U.S. land! The Law of Blood:
If you are born outside the U.S. to parents who are citizens, then you are a citizen!

Rights of Citizens: Security – Protection of your rights Equality – We are all treated the same
