• June5–11:CoolerTemperaturesReturntotheEast,WhiletheWestStaysWarm.TropicalStormColinBringsWetWeathertoFlorida;OtherPartsoftheSouthDryOut.

• June12–18:TemperaturesAcrossNorthAmericaRiseDuringtheRun-UptoFather’sDayWeekend.TheStrongestSeasonalCompsAreFocusedinCentralRegions.

US:WEEKOFJUNE5–11Retail implications: Temperatures in the Northeast will average 10°F–15°F below last year,hamperingseasonaldemand.

• Lastyear,thisweekwasthewarmestin55years:Rainfallwas the least since 2012, although still above normal.Severe weather extended from the South Central regionintotheNortheast.

• Not “Colin” it quits:TropicalStormColinwillmoveacrossNorthernFloridabyTuesday,bringingheavy rainandhighwinds to the Sunshine State. Colinwill brush the coast ofGeorgia and the Carolinas before moving out to sea.Elsewhere across the Southern Tier,many areas will seedrier-than-normal conditions, allowing a reprieve fromrecentheavyrainandseverestorms.

• Heat builds across the Interior West: High pressure willbuild across the Interior West, driving temperatures intothe90sacrossmuchofthearea,withthedesertsexpectingto see their first 110°F readings of the season. Coastallocationswilltrendcoolerthanlastyear.

US:WEEKOFJUNE12–18

Retail implications:MuchoftheEastandpartsoftheWestwillexperience weaker comps compared to last year, while theCentralregionswillseethestrongestcomps.

• Last year, this week was the warmest since 2012:Tropical Storm Bill brought flooding to East Texas andOklahoma.Father’sDayintheUSwasthewarmestinover55 years and thewettest since 2011,with above-normalrainfall.

• More rain and severeweather:Rainwill track from theNorthwesttotheSoutheastthroughouttheweek.SevereweatherisalsopossibleacrossthePlains.

• Father’s Day weekend: The warmest temperatureanomalieswillbeseenacrosstheNorthernTier,whiletheWestwilltrendcooler.

• Warmer and drier West:Western and Central Europe willseethesunatthebeginningoftheweek,butlightrainwillmove back in later in the week, slowing flood recovery.Temperatureswilleasebackabovenormalandlastyear.

Retail implications:Thewarmth inNorthernEuropewillboostdemandforseasonalproducts,whiletheSouthwillseeweakerdemand.

• Warmer West, cooler East: Temperatures that are lowerthan normal and last year will settle into the Southeast,whilewarmthwillrebuildacrossWesternEurope.

• Wet weather persists: The slow-moving storm track willcontinue, bringing more rain to already saturated areas.MoresettledweatherwillcovertheMediterranean.
