Dr. Oz. Do I need to say more? A short story: While visiting my sister, I met one of her friends for the first time. She asked what I do, and I told her I work for USANA and that we manufacture high-quality nutritionals. “We were just featured on The Dr. Oz Show actually,” I said. “Really?!” she asked. “Yes, really,” I answered. I told her about the products, and she asked where she could get them. I told her she could get them from you, our Associates.
Now, if I can get a lead that easily, you have to ask yourself: Are you doing everything you can to get the word out about how USANA is a Trusted Partner and Sponsor of The Dr. Oz Show? If not, you’re missing out on an enormous opportunity. Speak up and make the most of this!
—Teresa Elias@USANAteresa Senior Manager of Brand Communications
The Main Event I’m a writer. That’s what I do. Words are kind of my thing, yet I always find it difficult to explain—to put into words—the impact USANA’s events can have on a person. So you can probably imagine what it was like for me as I sat down to write an article on this very topic. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned recently, it’s the importance of attending events. They play a pivotal role in your success as a business owner, and if you truly want to become a top earner, you have to make attending events a top priority for you and your team. It’s really that simple.
—Aaron Adams @USANAaronWriter

What’s Your USANA Story?
One of my favorite things about my job is attending USANA events all over the world. But it’s not for the reasons you might think. It’s not about traveling to some of the most beautiful places on the planet or getting up on stage in front of everyone to hear myself talk. It’s not even because I get to meet and listen to the biggest names in the health and direct selling industries (although that’s a huge plus).
For me, the best part about attending USANA events is that I get to hear from real people—real Associates, just like you, who are working hard every day to make their financial goals and health ambitions come true. From the new Associate who just cashed their first USANA check or signed up for their first 5K race to the veteran who shared their latest advancement or travel adventure, the stories I hear are fascinating and inspiring. They keep me motivated to continue to share USANA’s vision with the world.
If you haven’t attended a USANA event, or even if you just haven’t made the time to get to one in the last few years, I encourage you to step outside your comfort zone and see what today’s USANA events have to offer. I think you’ll be surprised at the impact a group of determined, like-minded, diverse, and fun Associates can have on your own passion for health and success in this business. It’s also a great place to share your own story with others—you never know who you’ll inspire or what you’ll learn when you begin a conversation about USANA.
See you soon at a USANA event near you!
—Kevin Guest, USANA President

HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF USANA’S TRUSTED PARTNERSHIP Written by Teresa Elias @USANAteresa

SANA is a Trusted Partner and Sponsor of The Dr. Oz Show. Have you seen us? We’re there, every single day, with
10-second ads sending the USANA name, logo, and brand into millions of households. But that’s not all. Our products are also there every single month, on stage with Dr. Oz, being talked about by Dr. Oz, and being given away by Dr. Oz.
Take advantage of this enormous opportunity to start conversations, share USANA’s mission of true health and true wealth, and turn acquaintances into customers. Here are four easy ways to incorporate “USANA is a Trusted Partner and Sponsor of The Dr. Oz Show” into your business.
SHARE THE EXCLUSIVE USANA DR. OZ VIDEO ON YOUR PERSONAL WEBSITE. The USANA Dr. Oz video has Dr. Oz front and center, talking about USANA.
Here are a few quotes from the video:
These Dr. Oz quotes add incredible credibility to your USANA business, but the video is even better. And, it’s on Your Personal Website right now!
This means you can send your website link to your friends and family so they can learn more about how USANA and Dr. Oz are working together. Remember: this video is exclusive to Your Personal Website—you won’t find it on YouTube or anywhere else, so it’s up to you to share its content with your potential customers!
“I ALWAYS TALK TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY ABOUT USANA, AND
I HOPE TO COLLABORATE WITH THEM ON ADDITIONAL PROJECTS
IN THE MONTHS AND YEARS TO COME. TOGETHER, WE’RE ON A
MISSION TO MAKE THE WORLD A HAPPIER, HEALTHIER PLACE.”
“I BELIEVE THAT USANA IS A COMPANY WITH TREMENDOUS
INTEGRITY.… I DEEPLY RESPECT DR. WENTZ FOR NOT ONLY HIS
UNMATCHED KNOWLEDGE ON CELLULAR HEALTH, BUT ALSO FOR
HIS VISION. THIS VISION IS INSTILLED IN THE PRESTIGIOUS
TEAM OF RESEARCHERS AND DEVELOPERS WORKING AT USANA.”
WRITE BLOGS ABOUT THE APPEARANCE OF OUR PRODUCTS ON THE SHOW. Follow in the footsteps of Gold Director Cindy Nunnery from Michigan, USA.
Here’s what she suggests:
A. WATCH The Dr. Oz Show on the featured product and take notes.
B. WRITE a blog post on that health topic and go over the tips and information Dr. Oz presents.
C. ADD additional information on the USANA products with links to Your Personal Website, so readers can purchase the product easily.
D. POST the blog on the social media outlets you use most. Cindy’s favorites are Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, and Instagram, but use what’s most comfortable for you.
E. If you have a list of team members or Preferred Customers, SEND YOUR POST out via e-mail to them as well.

TALK ABOUT IT. One particular Associate who’s been talking about USANA’s products on The Dr. Oz Show isn’t featured here—she’s featured in her very own 1-Star Diamond Director advancement story on page 17. That’s right. The one and only Tracy Wenkman has been talking to her customers about The Dr. Oz Show. You should do the same.
These tips will help you get the conversation going:
A. BE PUMPED ABOUT IT. If you’re excited, others will be too.
B. DON’T FORGET OUR TITLE. USANA is a Trusted Partner and Sponsor of The Dr. Oz Show—and we’re one of only a few companies that can say that. Repeat it a few times so you’re ready to name drop at any time.
C. READ UP ABOUT THE PRODUCTS BEING FEATURED. Once you know what will be featured on the show, check out the Product Information Booklet so you can discuss the finer points of the product when people ask you for more insight. n
WANT MORE INFORMATION ABOUT USANA AND THE DR. OZ SHOW? You should, because this is an incredible opportunity, and you don’t want it to pass you by. Visit The Hub for all the latest.
DOWNLOADTHE TRUSTED PARTNER BUSINESS PLAN. Each month, for each product featured, we’re creating a step-by-step plan for you to optimize this trusted partnership for your business. You can find it on The Dr. Oz Show landing page on The Hub, and it tells you what to do every day to maximize the effectiveness of your communications about USANA and The Dr. Oz Show. It goes over every asset we’ve created for you as well as information about the product webinars we’re holding after each show. Hint: invite guests to join you for the webinar and let USANA help you close the sale.
“I LOVE WRITING THE BLOGS AND INCLUDING NOT JUST OUR
USANA PRODUCT BUT ALSO THE OTHER THINGS DR. OZ TALKS
ABOUT AS WELL. IT REALLY GIVES OVERALL SUPPORT TO THE
HEALTH CONCERN AND EXPLAINS HOW USANA’S PRODUCTS
CAN BE INCORPORATED INTO A COMPLETE HEALTH PLAN.”
—Cindy Nunnery, Gold Director(@cindynunnery)
“I ALWAYS POST AND SHARE WHAT USANA POSTS BEFORE THE
SHOWS BECAUSE IT GIVES THE CONTENT THAT THIRD PARTY
VALIDATION AND IT’S LESS TIME CONSUMING. I HAVE A
PR TEAM WORKING FOR ME! WHY NOT USE IT?”

CARE
has learned a lot about change in the last several months—she recently moved from New Hampshire to North Carolina to live in a warmer climate a little closer to the beach. She also left her sales job at her father’s business to pursue health coaching and a USANA career full time.
But one thing that hasn’t changed is her passion for healthy living. “My health and teaching others how to live a healthy lifestyle are my top priorities,” she explains. As a certified holistic health coach and food blogger, Andrea knows she has to care for the health of
her whole body.
I honestly believe that a healthy digestive system is crucial for an overall healthy body and mind,” Andrea explains. “If your digestion is out of whack, then you’re not getting the nutrients your body needs for you to have optimal health.”*
This is why Andrea supports her digestive health with consistent efforts—including taking USANA products. “USANA’s Probiotic has helped me improve my digestion so much over the past few years,” Andrea says. “I no longer struggle with digestive issues like bloating.” Andrea especially appreciates that USANA’s Probiotic is shelf stable and convenient to take.*
The Daily DIGESTFor Andrea, a healthy digestive system starts first thing in the morning. “Every day when I wake up, the first thing I do is have a big glass of warm lemon water,” Andrea says. “This helps not only hydrate my body, but also get me going for the day. After about an hour I’ll have my breakfast with my AM HealthPak™
and Probiotic.”
For the most part, Andrea tries to eat whole, healthy foods—lots of vegetables, fruits, lean proteins, and healthy fats from nuts and seeds. “When I eat heavy foods like starchy carbohydrates, dairy, and grains, or whenever I go out to eat, I’ll make sure to take USANA’s Digestive Enzyme to help my body properly digest those foods.”*
Andrea specifically seeks out foods that are good for the gut. “I also like to eat a variety of fermented foods, like sauerkraut, kombucha, and miso to help boost the good bacteria in my gut and keep my digestive system in tip-top shape,” she explains. “When my digestive system is in proper working order, my body functions so much better, and I feel amazing!”

The USANA DIFFERENCEWhen it comes to USANA products, Andrea knows that consistency is key. “I’ve personally watched my body change—specifically good digestion, and healthy skin, hair, and nails. USANA’s products work! I won’t go a day without them. Friends and family always tell me that I ‘glow,’ and it’s definitely a combination of USANA’s products and great digestion!” n
TIPStop • Take USANA’s Probiotic every one to two days, as needed
• Eat plenty of prebiotic foods, such as bananas, oatmeal, legumes, and USANA’s Fibergy® Plus—these can help feed the probiotics in your body
• Share the benefits of USANA’s Probiotic by visiting Communication Edge for informative flyers and eCards

Share this information with your friends and family. The knowledge researchers are accumulating about well-being could help them make better and wiser decisions about their one and only body.
MAKE SCIENCE WORK FOR YOU
B vitamins B vitamins are water soluble and include thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate (also called folic acid or folacin), vitamin B6, vitamin B12, biotin, and pantothenic acid. B vitamins play important roles in cell metabolism, and while many foods contain one or a few B vitamins—for example, milk products are rich in riboflavin—it’s more difficult to find all the B vitamins in any one food product.
s much as we’d sometimes like to think so, health isn’t just about counting calories,
getting your time in at the gym, or choosing a salad over a sandwich. It’s nuanced, well rounded,
and it includes your thoughts and feelings, too. Remember to keep the mind-body connection
strong—with science.
ASUPPLEMENT YOUR MOODAn analysis of eight studies evaluating the influence of multivitamin/mineral supplements on stress and mood found that “micronutrient supplementation has a beneficial effect on perceived stress...and aspects of everyday mood in apparently healthy individuals.” The researchers found that supplements containing high doses of B vitamins, especially, seemed more effective in improving mood.
More information: Sara-Jayne Long, BSc, David Benton, DSc. “Effects of Vitamin and Mineral Supplementation on Stress, Mild Psychiatric Symptoms, and Mood in Nonclinical Samples: A Meta-Analysis.” Psychosom Med. http://journals.lww.com/psychosomaticmedicine/Abstract/2013/02000/Effects_of_Vitamin_and_Mineral_Supplementation_on.7.aspx (accessed March 23, 2015).
UNDER PRESSUREAccording to an article published in Psychosomatic Medical, both laboratory and epidemiological studies suggest that depression and stressful events motivate less healthy food choices. And, in turn, unhealthy foods—such as those high in refined starches, sugar, saturated fats, and trans-fats—promote inflammation.
Inflammation causes stress due to its effects on the chemical balances within the body.
It’s a cycle. Break it by taking action to reduce the amount of stress in your life.
• Write down three things you’re grateful for every day. Focus on the positive instead of the negative.
• Practice positive self-talk. Treat yourself like you would your best friend—be nice!
• Get enough sleep. Continually receiving less sleep than your body needs creates more stress hormones in the body.
More information: Janice K. Kiecolt- Glaser, Ph.D. “Stress, Food, and Inflammation: Psychoneuroimmunology and Nutrition at the Cutting Edge.” Psychosom Med. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2868080 (accessed March 21, 2015).
FEELING GOOD IS A WALK IN THE PARKA recent research study out of UC Berkeley found that those who spend time participating in activities that produce positive emotions, such as awe, wonder, and amazement, have
been shown to have lower levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in their bodies. Conversely, sustained high levels of cytokines are associated with poorer health and disorders such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis.
Take advantage of this knowledge:
• Go outside, and not just on the weekends. Take a walk after dinner and focus on enjoying your surrounding neighborhood. Turn your cell phone off.
• Get to know your city. Often, we get comfortable where we live and don’t seek out the local tourist attractions. Find what makes your city unique, then go exploring.
• Get involved in something new. Take an art class, sign up for guitar lessons, or try a new fitness class at your gym. Do something different. Remember: it’s okay to be a newbie.

We all have a unique USANA story. Some of us stumbled upon the company by chance. Some of us were long-time customers who decided to take on the business opportunity to make a few extra bucks each week.

mountain of debt.

your life
15
y name is Raechel Kadoya, and I want to tell you about a life-saving opportunity
I was introduced to when I hit rock bottom four years ago.
In March of 2011, my family and I were living in Yokosuka, Japan, when a 9.0 earthquake, tsunami, and triple-meltdown nuclear explosion struck—and rocked—our world. My husband, a Japanese national, and my three daughters and I had our lives set up there. After the disaster, we were, somehow, managing to make it paycheck to paycheck, and we remained healthy and happy. But all of this changed when particles of nuclear fallout coated our home, our schools, and our food supply.
We tried to continue living in Japan with the radiation for over a year while my instincts to protect my children battled a society unable to face the severity of the situation. The clean-up job was overwhelming for the country. To prevent panic, the government decided to lie about the risks we were facing, which were enormous due to the extreme amounts of radiation exposure.
I began to dwell on all the wrong choices I was making for my little girls. What might my children’s future be? What might my grandchildren’s future be? I fell to my knees, begging for God’s mercy on my girls; begging for forgiveness for the greed we as humans have displayed, destroying the beautiful planet we’ve been given.
After much prayer, I knew it was my God-given duty to remove my children from that situation. We had to evacuate.
It was the summer of 2012 when we left our friends and family—the place we called home. All we had was what could fit in our suitcases, and I had no choice but to use credit cards for all of our expenses as we fled to my hometown of San Diego. We were faced with increased health risks, and I had no job, no insurance, and a mountain of debt.
We spent the next year depending on the grace of God and the hospitality of my family in the United States. It was during this time my cousin, Cristina Rivera, told me about USANA for the second time. Unlike the first time 10 years prior, I was all ears. She told me of Dr. Wentz and USANA’s quality standards, and when I heard USANA tests for contamination, my heart was won.
Initially, I was not interested in the business, because my focus was on taking care of my children no matter the cost. But my initial product order accumulated up to three Business
Centers’ worth of sales volume points, so I signed up for the sake of covering the cost of my products.
Fast forward through two Conventions; countless USANA webinars, events, trainings, and meetings; 25 pounds lost; thousands of dollars earned; and one Gold Director rank achieved; and my hope for our future has been restored. My faith has been confirmed. I now get to watch the people I love improve their health day by day.
Though I am thankful I had the freedom and faith to choose to leave my home,
my heart still aches for the situation in Japan and for those I have left behind.
I appreciate that USANA has provided my family with a way to make a difference in the lives of others through the USANA True Health Foundation, as well as through my own fundraiser called Free Vitamins Against Free Radicals, which sends free Usanimals™ to children in Japan.
Helping others take a step toward better heath and a better quality of life has become my passion. As USANA Associates, it’s our personal
responsibility to share our knowledge and help as many people as we can by introducing them to the freedom that comes with the education you get as a member of the USANA family. Many will suffer for lack of knowledge, and that is not what God wants for us. Be empowered to live with a quality of life that brings you joy. n

WHAT YOU MISSED AT THE U.S. CELEBRATION
There are moments in life that change you, make you think outside the box, and remove your inhibitions. At the U.S. Celebration, the “Aha!” moments were flying by so quickly, if you didn’t write them down, they were gone.
What made it so inspiring? Our all-star lineup of amazing speakers—including Network Marketing Professional Eric Worre, USANA President Kevin Guest, and several top Associates.
Here are a few takeaways to help you shoot your business through the roof:
MAKE THE DECISIONThe most important thing you can do is make the decision to invest in your business and see it through. Until then, you can’t reach into other people’s minds and unlock their true potential. Decide to be a rock—don’t be swayed by anyone else’s opinion. Just do it.
GET THE SKILLSWhen you master skills, fear disappears. Focus on building a full skill set (finding, inviting, presenting, following up, closing, getting people started, and promoting events), and study and practice until you become a true professional—then you’re ready to tell the world.
GO TO CONVENTIONThere’s nothing that compares with the training, motivation, networking, and excitement of International Convention. Plus, statistically speaking, you could earn $1,000 for each person on your team who attends. Now, how many teammates and guests are you bringing? n
Make the #myUSANAcommitment to be all in, and use the hashtag to share your journey. For more game-changing tips from the U.S. Celebration, check out What’s Up, USANA? and The Hub.

Personalization is key in this business. Each person thinks, works, and grows their business differently. And new 1-Star Diamond Director Tracy Wenkman knows exactly what it takes for her business to be successful. With a focus primarily on building and supporting Preferred Customers, Tracy has worked hard to make her business uniquely hers. “I take a very informational and service-minded approach to my business,” she says. “I make sure that I’m always there for my customers. If there’s new information, I make sure they hear it from me first. I ensure every customer has the tools they need, and I let them know I am there to help whenever they need it.”
With a business focused on the customers, Tracy is excited that USANA is a Trusted Partner and Sponsor of The Dr. Oz Show. “Being on The Dr. Oz Show is a very customer-based way to get USANA out there and help others recognize our brand,” she says. “It adds legitimacy to what you are saying and is a great way to start a conversation with others about our products.”
With Tracy’s unwavering commitment to her customers, it’s no surprise that her advancement to 1-Star Diamond Director happened so naturally. “It was more of an organic progression rather than an elaborate plan,” she says. “The greatest thing I can do for my business is to stay consistent. I’ve figured out what works for me, so I just make minor changes to perfect my system along the way.”
Now, as Tracy looks back on her success, she can’t help but be grateful for the way USANA has changed her life. “USANA has been a great health benefit for my family, but for me, the best part has been the people I’ve met,” she says. “The friendships I have and the leadership skills I’ve learned along the way make this truly an incredible experience. I can’t believe how much better my life is now!”

Alejandra Guzmán and Guillermo Chávez had big dreams, but 10 years ago, they
had little idea how those dreams were going to come to fruition. “We lacked energy
and income, and our lives were not turning out the way we had planned,” they say.
So when the couple was introduced to USANA, they thought it might be worthwhile,
but the actual results astounded them. While the last decade hasn’t been easy,
they’ve accomplished more than they had hoped, and as new Emerald Directors, the
couple is now truly living the #USANAlifestyle.
Deciding to work toward Emerald wasn’t a decision the couple took lightly, and they
calculated their steps to ensure the timing would be just right. “We had been planning
our Emerald advancement for some time,” they say. “We wanted it to happen when
our team was strong so it would happen naturally. We definitely didn’t want to
rush anything.”
As new Emerald Directors, Alejandra and Guillermo hope to inspire others to challenge
themselves, because they know the impact USANA can have in one’s own life. “We’ve
experienced many changes in our lives thanks to our team and USANA,” they say,
“and we want others to experience it as well.”Alejandra Guzmán & Guillermo Chávez

Johnson Lingjiang Jiang has a very specific goal when it comes to his USANA
business: advance once a year. However, following his Ruby advancement last fall,
he realized Emerald was within his reach. “It was very unexpected,” he says, referring
to his latest accomplishment. “Working toward Emerald was very natural, and thanks
to my team’s effort, it was possible.”
One of the most important keys to having a successful business is having strong
individuals on your team, and Jiang is blessed to have a team that supports him. As
their leader and teammate, he is eager to work with them and help them fulfill their
individual and team goals. “We have grown and improved so much as a team,” he
says. “As we each continue to grow, we are focused on establishing leaders within
our organization.”
Jiang’s Emerald advancement was even more memorable with the addition of a new
member to his family’s team––a daughter. “Because of the time freedom USANA has
provided us, we don’t have to rely on a nanny,” he says. A welcome addition to their
family, Jiang’s new daughter has also reminded him that family is most important.
“We can’t imagine our lives any differently than they are today,” Jiang says
with a smile. Johnson Lingjiang

Jeffy Li couldn’t be more excited that he’s reached Emerald Director. For him, it’s a
testament that his hard work and dedication have paid off. “I develop my business
with all my heart and mind,” he says. “I constantly set goals, find and talk to people,
train and duplicate my team, and create opportunities for my team to grow with me.”
Since his last advancement, Jeffy has embraced the opportunity his USANA business
has given him to be part of a team. He was used to working alone, but he knew that
so much more could be possible if he was willing to encourage, train, and support
the people around him. “I’m grateful for my team,” he says. “Because of their support
and friendship, I have been able to accomplish this achievement.”
Jeffy sees great potential in USANA and knows that if he works hard enough, he can
expand his business further than he ever imagined. He believes that with USANA,
he has the best opportunity to live a happy life. “I’m gradually working toward the
financial freedom and the time freedom that I’ve always wanted,” he says. “The
more time I spend on my USANA business, the more time I have to spend with my
family. I know I can keep it up and become a Diamond someday.”
Jeffy Li, New York, USA
Yuping Liu’s advancement to Emerald was a long-term effort that required hard work,
perseverance, and a commitment to helping others grow. Liu feels it is her responsibility
to lead her team toward true success. By using the experience she’s acquired over the
years to train her team, she was able to reach Emerald and show others that it is possible.
“I gladly share the USANA difference with those around me by sharing Dr. Wentz’ vision,”
she says. “USANA helps me understand the true meaning of health, wealth,
and freedom.”
As she leads her team toward success, each step makes her dreams bigger, and
she is becoming more confident in her ability to accomplish amazing things. “I want
to challenge myself to continue advancing to higher ranks,” she says. “I plan to be a
Diamond Director by next year, and I am excited to lead more people to be successful.
I believe every person who is willing to work hard can achieve their dreams.”
When Liu looks back on her experience with USANA, she says she is grateful for—and
inspired by—the people around her who are creating success. “My team has created so
many incredible leaders. It motivates me to continue to work hard and learn from them,”
she says. “I am so thankful for their friendship and support.”Yuping Liu New York, USA

CHALLENGE, GROWTH, INSPIRATION:
USANA ASSOCIATE
SHINES IN BIKINI COMPETITION
Written by Suzanne Houghton @USANA_Suzanne
“USANA has helped me develop
a number of business skills and confidence
in myself. ”–Chrystal Pearl
your life
21
THE CHALLENGEChrystal has never shied away from difficulty, and when it comes to health and fitness, she is an extraordinary example. As a yoga teacher and USANA Associate, she has fitness and health constantly on her mind. But when her good friend––and fellow USANA Associate––Steve Yu strongly encouraged her to look into the competition, she couldn’t imagine doing it. “Everything was new to me. I had never lifted heavy weights consistently at the gym in my life, and I had only really started exercising on a consistent basis starting in 2011.”
Despite her initial hesitations, Chrystal believes in the importance of never letting yourself get too comfortable, and along with the encouragement of others, Chrystal signed up for the challenge. “Sometimes the greatest journeys and growth in life happen because someone else believes in you,” she says.
ALWAYS IMPROVINGA bikini competition isn’t something you just decide to do. For nearly 18 weeks prior to the event, Chrystal spent hours working and toning her body, in addition to following extremely strict meal plans. “I did weight training five days a week for 90 minutes, eventually going to up to seven days a week for two to three hours a day,” she recalls. Chrystal challenged herself every day, but she never gave up. “I would come home from the gym, clean up, and crash on my bed after working so hard.”
After nearly four months of training, the day of the Sandra Wickham Fall Classic arrived, and Chrystal was ready. More than 420 athletes competed in various categories, and Chrystal competed against 187 in her category. The competition was fierce, but out of 21 other women in her height class, Chrystal placed seventh.
INSPIRING OTHERSSince the competition, Chrystal has had a chance to reflect on the entire process, and while she isn’t currently training again, she knows she is capable of doing it.
“The plan I followed for the competition didn’t stop after the competition ended,” she says. “Everything I did for the competition has become part of my life, and I hope others can see it is possible to make changes in their lifestyle, too.”
Chrystal knows the power of believing in yourself, and she does it every day as a USANA Associate. “USANA has helped me develop a number of business skills and confidence in myself. Never in my life did I think I would be able to stand in front of a group and present, but I do it every week giving USANA presentations. I used to be incredibly timid and shy, but thanks to USANA, I am no longer that person.”
For Chrystal, The Sandra Wickham Fall Classic was more than just a competition––it taught her the importance of setting a goal that seems
impossible and then completing it. “You have to be open to doing things that are uncomfortable,” she says. “I share my experience in hopes of giving others inspiration and motivation to act upon whatever it is they want to accomplish in their lives. I want others to believe in themselves. I did, and I did it.” n
he thought of standing in front of a panel of judges wearing nothing but a bikini is some people’s worst nightmare.
USANA Associate Chrystal Pearl saw it as a challenge, and it was one she was willing to face. The event? The 2014 Sandra Wickham Fall Classic.

As new Ruby Director Shun Qing Lin approached his four-year anniversary with USANA, he knew it was time to take his business to the next level. With help from the new Fast Start Bonus, he was able to mobilize his team and enroll several new active Associates in a short amount of time. “Becoming a Ruby Director not only encouraged my team,” he says, “but it was also the best Christmas gift I got last year!”
For Lin, choosing USANA made perfect sense. He knew that to be truly successful, he needed to be a part of something he loved, and USANA’s vision, high-quality products, and standout compensation plan demonstrated the company’s superiority over other competitors. “Believe in the quality and potency of the products, believe in the vision, and believe great things can happen,” he says.
New Ruby Directors Lynette and Mark Mast have created a team that feels just like home. Every event they plan has a warm and welcoming feeling, and now, their team has become a family that cares for one other. “We use our USANA business to inspire and influence others to become the best version of themselves,” they say. “We choose joy every day and inspire others to do the same.”
Lynette and Mark look forward to the future and are confident that the year ahead will be amazing as they focus on creating health awareness and helping others. “As we take our team to Diamond and beyond,” they say, “we are committed to excellence and a high level of professionalism as we represent the best of the best, USANA!”
After taking and feeling the effects of USANA’s products, Ruby Director Karen Mok knew she had great potential to influence the lives of others for good. “USANA’s vision to create a world free of disease and free from suffering, and their desire to become the healthiest and happiest family, these ideas are what make a difference,” she says. “With the perfect combination of high-quality products and vision, I know I can be successful with this platform.”
Now, Karen is even more determined to embrace her role as Ruby Director. “It’s my personal mission to help people improve their health,” she says. “USANA provides hardworking people with the opportunity to enjoy financial freedom, and I can’t wait to tell more and more people about it.”

Gold Directors—December 14, 2014–February 21, 2015
t the age of 20, USANA ambassador Sarah Hendrickson’s résumé stands out among
those within her field. With accolades that include a U.S. title, a World Championship gold medal, and a World Cup globe, the 2014 Olympian continues to put women’s ski jumping on the map and pave the way for those who follow her.
After injuring her knee six months before Sochi, Sarah had two options. One, to give up on her Olympic dreams, or two, fight her way back. And as anyone could’ve guessed, giving up was never really an option.
Fast forward to January 2014. After countless hours in the gym and physical therapy, the Park City native made history as she was named to the first-ever U.S. Olympic Women’s Ski Jumping team and became the first woman to jump in any Winter Games competition.
See what Sarah’s been up to since that day, what keeps her motivated, and what she hopes to accomplish next.
“NEVER GIVE UP BECAUSE
DREAMSDOCOME TRUE!”
LOOKING BACK ON THIS PAST YEAR, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY WAS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT?
It was an amazing year, but also a really hard year. I think I expected myself to be over my injury after the physical barriers were gone, but the mental side has been a huge struggle for me. Not having confidence in my training and my knee was something that didn’t come easy, but every day I get a little bit better. I had an unforgettable time in Sochi, and that will stay with me forever.
WHAT HAS LIFE BEEN LIKE SINCE SOCHI? HAS IT CALMED DOWN AT ALL?
Not really. I had another knee surgery [post-Olympics] so rehab and physical stuff never really calmed down. I also tried to do some media stuff and work with my sponsors to keep me busy because I really like doing that, but didn’t take much time off from ski jumping because I really missed it. Now I am back on the World Cup and just thankful to be healthy again.
DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIFIC GOALS THIS WORLD CUP SEASON?
I need to find my passion for ski jumping again. In the past year it has been really masked by the media and the hustle of the Games. Of course I loved some parts of that, but you can lose perspective on the love of your sport. I just need to enjoy jumping again and then the results will come. I know I can be at the top of my game again, but it will take time and a lot of smiles.
IS THERE A MOTTO OR INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE YOU LIVE BY?
NEVER GIVE UP BECAUSE DREAMS DO
COME TRUE! When I first injured my knee in August 2013, the possibility of not being able to compete in Sochi and losing sponsors definitely crossed my mind, but it wasn’t what happened. All of my friends, family, coaches, and sponsors encouraged and supported me through my recovery, which meant everything. My journey to Sochi may have not been as smooth as I had originally planned for it to be, but it was never an option for me to give up. n

A Million Dollar Message
Now, read about life and business from their perspective, and see how you can give yourself a million-dollar mindset.
Becoming a member of USANA’s Million Dollar Club (MDC) is an important and memorable milestone in the lives of hundreds of Associates. (Literally, more than 200!) The two newest MDC distributorships, Ivy Chan and Wilson Leung and Mireille St-Gelais, celebrated their incredible success with USANA by visiting Salt Lake City, Utah. Along with the red carpet treatment, they enjoyed a tour of the Home Office, met one on one with USANA’s executives, and had a much-deserved day of celebration. Amid all the excitement, it was easy to forget that these individuals have dedicated their lives to USANA to make this one day a reality.

WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL BUSINESS MOTTO?“If people can realize they have true potential in life and tie that potential to what they do, they can go beyond themselves. I make it my mission to help others realize their true potential and teach them how to maximize it.”
IF YOU COULD ATTRIBUTE YOUR SUCCESS TO ONE THING, WHAT WOULD THAT BE?“I strive for excellence. That includes embracing challenges, pushing myself out of my comfort zone, and being persistent.”
HOW HAS BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE MDC HELPED YOUR LIFE AND YOUR BUSINESS?“Sometimes you face a lot of negativity and doubt in this business, but getting
to the MDC is validation that your hard work, dedication, and persistence was worthwhile. It enhances my confidence and shows others that they can do the same. It’s evidence of how many lives we can touch. But this isn’t the end. It’s a new chapter for us to help even more people.”
WHAT SUGGESTIONS CAN YOU GIVE TO ASSOCIATES WHO HOPE TO BE IN THE MDC SOMEDAY?“Don’t see the MDC as a dream; see it as a milestone. That way you can see it as a goal and you can actively strive to achieve it. Embrace that mindset and then do it.”
WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL BUSINESS MOTTO?“Our motto is communication. Staying in touch with your team through e-mails, texts, Facebook, parties, and webinars is crucial. Strong relationships are very important because together we are stronger.”
IF YOU COULD ATTRIBUTE YOUR SUCCESS TO ONE THING, WHAT WOULD THAT BE?“Sharing with passion!”
HOW HAS BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE MDC HELPED YOUR LIFE AND YOUR BUSINESS?“Residual income equals freedom, choice, and the opportunity to be with the people you love! For our
team, reaching this status is evidence that this is real and achievable and proof that USANA’s compensation plan is really working.”
WHAT SUGGESTIONS CAN YOU GIVE TO ASSOCIATES WHO HOPE TO BE IN THE MDC SOMEDAY?“I don’t think any other job or business will give you this kind of revenue with so much freedom. Seriously invest in yourself and be consistent. It will be worth it! Be persistent to create your life with this extraordinary vehicle of health and freedom. It’s at your fingertips; you just have to decide to do it!” n

SANA HAS ALWAYS BEEN OPEN TO EVERYONE
IN THE UNITED STATES, BUT NOW, THERE’S AN
ADDED FOCUS WITHIN THE U.S. MARKET: LATINO
COMMUNITIES. IT’S A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR
YOU TO EXPAND YOUR HORIZONS AND REACH
OUT TO NEW POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS AND TEAMMATES. AND
WE’LL BE SUPPORTING YOU ALL THE WAY, WITH MORE TRAINING
FOR LATINO LEADERS, NEW SALES TOOLS MADE ESPECIALLY
TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF THIS UNIQUE MARKET, AND LOTS
OF INFORMATION TO GET YOU STARTED RIGHT.
UASOMBROSO POTENTIALThis is an amazing opportunity for anyone in the U.S., and if you want proof, just take a look at the numbers. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are approximately 54 million Hispanic people living in the U.S., which means they make up about 17 percent of the U.S. population. There are already large Hispanic populations in the southwest, Florida, and New York. Hispanic communities are also beginning to flourish in new areas, such as North and South Carolina, Nebraska, and Colorado.
In 2010, the U.S. Hispanic population’s purchasing power hit one trillion dollars—and this amount will only continue to grow as the population increases. Now is the time for you to take advantage of this market and change even more lives while you’re at it.
EMBRACING THE OPPORTUNITYUSANA leaders are already excited to build with the U.S. Latinos. “The opportunity and timing are perfect!” says Gold Director Luis Nuño. “I am a proud Mexican, and I’m going after this. I am committed to myself, my wife, my family, and my team. I am sharing the vision of Dr. Wentz!”
Executive 1-Star Diamond Directors Tom and Lorie Mulhern have been making connections with the Latino community, and they think this new opportunity is a win-win for USANA. “The Latino/Hispanic culture is rooted in relationships and community,” they explain. “This makes the ‘people helping people’ model of USANA a great fit into how the community operates already! In addition, the emerging awareness of health needs within this community has opened up tremendous opportunities to provide help for lifestyle changes.”

your wayTom and Lorie’s involvement has been overwhelmingly positive. “Our experience is that the Latino/Hispanic community is open to learn and naturally shares what they learn with others in their family, church, and work environments,” they say. “In a nutshell, the needs for improved physical and financial health within the community are high, and the natural fabric of communication and influence is within the family and community relationships.”
Latino communities and the USANA family are a natural fit for each other. “Latinos are passionate about everything,” explains Ruby Director Catalina Aristizábal.“Our energy allows everyone to have fun and spread the goodwill everywhere, all while building a business network. Learn the culture—learn how they care for each other and how they work together.” She advises letting the USANA message speak for itself. “Remember that USANA is a business for helping people,” she says.
In anticipation of this launch, several leaders are receiving training from USANA’s corporate offices to help them embrace this demographic. A committee of several established Latino leaders is also advising USANA about how to proceed in this new community. USANA’s new Director of Latin Market Field Development Martha Leverett is working to establish communication between the market and USANA’s Home Office. (You can reach her at Martha.Leverett@us.usana.com.) Together, we’ll make sure we meet the needs of the U.S. Latinos, and we’ll help you find even greater success by discovering these new USANA family members.
My suggestion to the Associates who want to build in this market is, as always, find out what motivates your Latino prospects and deliver USANA as a solution to their need.

Leverett@us.usana.com).

SANA’s business model isn’t normal in the
traditional sense of the word. After all, we’re in the business of direct selling, which is described as anything but conventional. This industry is designed for people who see life differently and possess a certain drive—a drive to better their own lives as well as the lives of those around them.
And let’s be honest, changing lives is a rather lofty ambition.
But when it comes to success, you’ll find this “lofty ambition” is what propels top leaders to their impressive standings within our ranks. You’ll also find that USANA’s top income earners and most influential Diamond Directors surround themselves with people who share the same goals and objectives, no matter how unattainable they seem to outsiders.
That’s because they understand that adversity comes with the territory, and sharing thoughts and ideas with like-
minded individuals is the best way to overcome the roadblocks that can supersede such a unique career path. They understand nothing beats face-to-face interaction, and surrounding yourself with people who live and breathe the #USANAlifestyle every day will have an incredible impact on the success of your business.
Bottom line: Every opportunity to interact with your fellow Associates should be taken advantage of—every Celebration, every training, every large-scale Convention should be considered a must-attend event for you and your team.
Why Attending Events Can (and Will) Make You Money
HERE ARE THE TOP FIVE REASONS USANA’S EVENTS WILL TAKE YOU—AND
YOUR BUSINESS—TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
You’ve heard this one before: Knowledge is power. And in the direct selling industry, few adages carry more weight. The best leaders never stop seeking out new, inventive business-building approaches and taking every opportunity to learn from their peers. Every USANA event is packed with knowledgeable influencers who want nothing more than to share their expertise with people who are ready and willing to turn knowledge into action. Darren Hardy, Tony Robbins, Eric Worre, and Dr. Oz are just a few of the big names who have taken the stage at USANA events.
The daily grind can be overwhelming. With Facebook newsfeeds, endless commutes, and an ever-expanding Netflix queue, it has become easier than ever to lose sight of your goals. Attending an event blocks out all the white noise—the meaningless distractions—and allows you to hone in on your objective. This type of immersion is good. Use the time at these events to refocus and recommit to your future as a USANA business owner.
KNOWLEDGE TOTAL IMMERSION
U
Because in network marketing, people who attend events make money.
International Convention
International Convention
In this particular instance, when we say, “peer pressure,” we’re actually talking about inspiration. Watching other people succeed can be incredibly motivating. And with all the awards and recognition surrounding every USANA event, you’ll return home with the resolve to do everything it takes to ensure you will be the one walking across the stage at the next USANA awards banquet or gala.
Humans are social creatures. We constantly seek validation from outside sources, and sometimes we need a subtle reminder of why we’ve chosen a particular path. There’s nothing like looking around a room at thousands of people who have made the same (awesome) decision you have. And when you realize all of these people truly believe in the work they’ve set out to do, you will be reminded of why you chose to become an Associate in the first place.
The more people on your team attend events, the more likely you are to succeed—top leaders know the number of people they bring to every event will have a direct impact on the strength of their business. They understand that every event is about more than big product announcements and stunning entertainment. These events arm everyone with the knowledge needed to succeed; provide a level of immersion you can’t find anywhere else; inspire those in attendance to push themselves further; and prove just how instrumental USANA business owners can be when it comes to making a difference in the world. n
Now is the time to make a commitment to attend at least one large-scale event, like International Convention, and one smaller-scale event, like a Celebration or a USANA Tour, over the next year. Check out the article on page 50 for more information about the wide range of events and recognition-based incentive trips we have planned for you.
“SOCIAL PROOF”

POSITIVE PEER PRESSURE
“There is no way you can understand Dr. Wentz and the vision of this great company if you don’t attend events! If you want to grow your business, income, knowledge, and team, you have to make events a priority. More importantly, don’t go alone! Start today and encourage your team to join you.”

ou know USANA events are important when building a strong business. But where do you start? Which ones do you attend? Well, we’re here to help!
International Convention is an incredibly important (not to mention exciting) event, but there are a number of others you can attend for product training, business tips, or some extra motivation.
Pull out your calendars and get ready, USANA family!
Y
“The first time I went to Convention, I brought one teammate with me, and I advanced from Director to a Silver Director within two weeks. The next year, I brought more than 30 teammates with me and I went from Gold to Ruby. Following the recent U.S. National Celebration, I advanced to Diamond. The number one thing that dictates explosive growth in your business comes from promoting events in your team. Don’t just come to events––promote them within your team!”
“Leadership Summit was an amazing experience. It was one of the most amazing experiences of our USANA lives. The coaching we received with Nicki Keohohou opened our eyes, and we are now working at taking our business to the next level! The most amazing part is the relationships you form with other leaders, and the warmth of USANA’s corporate team was phenomenal! It has to be one of the most authentic and amazing experiences ever. Everyone needs to go!”

IN YOUR LIFE How to Run a USANA Business
—and a FamilyWritten by Emily Alaniz @USANA_Emily
FIND BALANCE WORKING PARENTS:
your way
52
MANAGE YOUR TIMEThough Emerald Director Patti Roney’s children are all grown up now, she started building her business when they were still young. “I had become a single mother before I found USANA,” Patti says. “And, I had also lost money in a former business. I was desperate for something powerful that would allow me to continue staying home and raising my children.”
The key to Patti’s success was effective time management. She organized her schedule into different blocks of time. “I blocked time for the entire family for everything we did,” she explains. But that doesn’t mean she didn’t make time for fun. “When we played, we played together,” she says. “We got time management down and used it to fit the most important things into our schedules.”
ASSESS YOUR PRIORITIESExecutive Ruby Director Lindsey Hardy believes that when it comes to business and family, “You don’t have to sacrifice one for the other.” She suggests figuring out your priorities at the beginning of each day. “Write down your top five most important things in order of priority,” she says. “I like to do this for my family and my business. Five maximum—too many and you will not be able to accomplish them.”
No matter what you do, Lindsey knows you can never be perfect. “I have had to realize this and just do my best,” she says. “At the end of each day, what matters the most is the difference you make in other people’s lives.”
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELFSilver Director Amy Ballantyne knows the value of self-care. “If mom isn’t healthy—look out!” she says. She takes care of herself by taking her supplements daily, choosing healthy foods, socializing with friends, and, of course, keeping up with basic hygiene. “Schedule time for a shower,” she says. “That is a must—moms will understand!”
Amy thinks anyone raising a family while leading a team deserves some extra appreciation. “As a USANA parent, you should give yourself the biggest round of applause,” Amy says. “I hope your kids will too someday.” n
TOP TIPS FOR PARENTS
1. Make a schedule and block out time for your biggest priorities.
2. Utilize the resources available on The Hub, such as Team Manager—they will save you time and effort.
3. Be fully present in everything you do. This will let you focus and recharge.
t’s not always easy to build a USANA business on your own time, and it’s certainly not any simpler when you have children
at home. But with proper time management and a lot of hard work, you can make time for both.

LEARN FROM EXPERIENCE
“We are all busy—busy people are the best in USANA. Figure out the best way to make USANA fit into your day.” —Amy Ballantyne, Silver Director
“Make everything a big deal! If you are with the children taking a walk, that’s important. If you are playing with them or just sitting and talking, make it a big deal.”
—Patti Roney, Emerald Director
“Be consistent: it is better to work one hour seven days a week than seven hours one day a week! Do one thing each day for your business.”
—Lindsey Hardy, Executive Ruby Director

your way
At the beginning of the year––or the USANA year––people typically assess where they are in their life, their goals, and their health. Rather than making minor tweaks, we tend to make large changes or set ambitious goals.
While I love dreaming big and setting large goals, why not live our lives like this all year long? When we make changes every day, it makes a difference in our lives, the way we feel, and our productivity. Why not play “all out” as best-selling author and trainer Eric Worre says?
In November, I had the opportunity to attend an Eric Worre presentation on recruiting mastery. His motto is:
1. Find a way
2. Tell the world
3. Figure it out
I appreciate the enthusiasm and energy it takes to give it your all. If you have big goals, what is holding you back? Why have you not achieved what you want? Is fear standing in your way? Are there obstacles you need to tackle? Do you need to strengthen your skill set?
Whatever your answers are, make each day a new day to take action and create the lifestyle you love!
Best,
Lori Truman, Vice President of U.S. Field Development

A Q&A with a USANA social media ambassador
How Can Social Media Help You?
your way
59
ilver Director Robin Thomas has spent years building an online presence, and her USANA business is reaping
the benefits. We reached out to her for some insight on how Associates struggling with social media can get on board.
“Social media has allowed me to continue to grow my business, even during difficult periods in my life.”—Robin Thomas, Silver Director@robinthomas1
SWhat types of content should a USANA Associate be posting to help build their business? All social media posts are an extension of ourselves and should authentically represent our own personality and interests. Content should always add value. Be certain to remain compliant with USANA policies, and never post product or business claims. Follow and share the fantastic content from USANA—we have the best example of appropriate content at our fingertips.
What advice do you have for people who might feel overwhelmed by social media or are afraid to give it a try?
If you are new to social media, think carefully about your own personality and how you want to represent yourself. Facebook is commonly suggested as the go-to platform, but that may not be appropriate for you. Are you visual? Then Pinterest is a good choice. Are you the ultimate professional? Then LinkedIn is best for you. Are you on the go and love your smartphone? Instagram and Twitter are great for that. Start with a single platform, complete your profile, and connect with people you know first. After you’re comfortable, you can start sharing posts and reaching out to others.
Do you keep your business separate from your personal life on social media?
It depends on the platform, but in general I don’t separate my personal life from my business. I am in all the way with USANA, and that means my personal life merges with my business throughout the day. LinkedIn would be the only exception.
You provide a good variety of content on your social sites. Explain your approach to selling the #USANAlifestyle.
USANA is so much more than selling vitamins. Each one of us is selling the USANA lifestyle by the way we live and the way we present ourselves in person and on social media. I love using select hashtags on social media, and my favorites are #USANAlifestyle and #USANAfamily. I use these hashtags to tag healthy lifestyle tips, fun activities, travel with family and friends, and really anything that I am able to do because I chose to join the USANA family.
What is your biggest pet peeve on social media from a business standpoint?
Negativity! Do you really want to attract negative people to your business? Then be as negative as you like, ranting and complaining about most any topic. But if your intention is to work with positive, enthusiastic people who are resilient to minor setbacks and who approach challenges with a solutions mindset, you need to model that behavior online. n

What Can 700+ Athletes Do for You?

PARA SER EL MEJOR, SU CUERPO NECESITA LO MEJOREscoja suplementos recomendados por más de 700 atletas élite
TALK ABOUT TRUSTMany people don’t trust something they’re unfamiliar with—especially when it comes to their health. Use USANA athletes to address this. What does it say that these esteemed athletes and Olympians put their trust in USANA? A lot.
STAY CURRENTMake sure you’re following our top athletes on social media. That way, you’ll know when something newsworthy is happening in their career, helping you know when you have a relevant talking point to bring up.
ASK AN ATHLETEYou know who might want to know that these elite athletes take USANA supplements? Other athletes! Approach the regulars at the gym, on the court, or on the slopes, and ask them about their
supplementation regimen. They might find it interesting that a pro snowboarder takes Procosa® for their joints.
MAKE A POINTUse Team USANA to give your potential new customer a new perspective on the need for nutritional supplementation. If world champions and gold medalists—who are already at the peak of healthy living—feel it’s important to take vitamins, why wouldn’t the average person?
VISIT THE HUB!Swing by the Team USANA page on The Hub and check out Communication Edge as well. You can download and print eCards and flyers with testimonials that highlight our partnership with these elite athletes. There is also a roster of our current Team USANA athletes. n

SuccessfulBeing successful is not just about making money or accomplishing lofty goals. Understanding the true characteristics of success can deepen your understanding of your life, your business, and your world. As one of USANA’s rising leaders, Executive Diamond Director Elizabeth Rider understands what it means to create success. “Successful people focus on service,” she says. “Successful people learn to pay attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and without judgment.”
“Living a life of significance is about serving those who need your gifts, your leadership, and your purpose.”
—Lindsey Hardy Executive Ruby Director
WomenIt’s easy to compare yourself to other successful people, but understanding you are unique, with distinctive talents and abilities, is a vital part of becoming a leader. As Executive 1-Star Diamond Director Lorie Mulhern said, “BAM! Better as me!” Do what works best for you and focus on the power you have to make a difference.
“Women have the unique ability to rally around each other and build each other up.”
—Elizabeth Rider Executive Diamond Director
EmpoweringThe best way to show others you believe in them is to show them how you believe in yourself. Embrace that power within and let your example be a beacon for others. “Expand in love, joy, happiness, abundance, and success while inspiring others to do the same,” Executive Ruby Director Kate Northrup Watts says. “Be a lighthouse.”
“I choose USANA as my tool to embrace and empower others.”
—Ivy Chan Executive 2-Star Diamond Director
EntrepreneursBeing an entrepreneur means you have the opportunity to create your own income and have freedom to live your life your way. But it’s not always easy. “There will always be challenges,” Foundation Executive Diamond and 2-Star Diamond Director April London says, “but keep doing little bits every day and it will pay off in the future.” Don’t let challenges get in the way of achieving your dreams. “If you can get rid of the mental clutter, you have the answers within you,” Emerald Director Stacy Harmer says. “You can turn your stumbling blocks into stepping stones.”
“Make a commitment to do better today than you did the day before. Living a legacy is a journey.”
—Kahnoush Mokhbery Foundation Executive Diamond Director
TogetherFoundation Executive Diamond and 2-Star Diamond Director Dr. Paige Hunter says, “We are an army of women, and we can accomplish so much together.” And she was right.
