Recording catheter care and maintenancefor short term, long term and suprapubic catheters

Catheter care and maintenance

1. Indicate whether a urine specimen was collected during the catheter review.

2. Select colour that described the colour of the urine in the drainage bag or in specimen if collected

3. If known, record if a CAUTI is present

4. Indicate whether the catheter remains secure

5. Indicate whether the catheter is patent

6. Indicate whether the indication for catheterisation is still present

7. Indicate what follow up action is required

8. Confirm recorded observations by clicking the green tick.
