Mass distribution:• Assuming mass is equally distributed over the area of the pit floor.
• Area of pit = 4.85 m * 2.43 m = 11.79 m²
• Total mass ≈ 50 T
• Distributed mass ≈ 4.24 T/m² (limit = 1T/m²)
Conclusion:• The current strength of the floor of the pit should be confirmed as the drawing is
old.
• If the drawing found is correct civil works may be required to strengthen the pit.
