VALUES AND MORALS
Moral values are the integral part of a one’s life. These moral beliefs are the pillars of civilized societies
and are the reasons which separate us from animals
Values
Values determine what is wrong what is right is what we mean by ethics. To
behave ethically is to behave in a manner consistent with what is right or wrong.
Foundation of our Values
Pre –conventional period: values determine by parents and siblings
Conventional period: values defined by siblings, groups, friends and immediate environment.
Post-conventional values: values determined our awareness of what is fair to all. This is founded on the development brought by knowledge and exposure
Value can be leaned.
Sincerity:
One needs to learn to be open minded and up front, not deceitful and trying to trick and take advantage of fellow being.
Honesty:
One need to eliminate lying, cheating, or theft as integrity, truthfulness, and straightforwardness is the pillar
to a prospering society
Respect:
One should show regard, a feeling of friendship and esteem toward other human fellow. Should be courteous and consider others opinion.
Courage:
One should adopt the traits as bravery, fortitude, intrepidity and master the ability to confront fear, pain, uncertainty, or intimidation
Loyalty:
One must possess the quality of being loyal .i.e. one need to be in align with the agenda which is beneficial for the society. They need to show commitment to do their best in helping to prosper the society
Its easy to live in a civilized society, but not that easy to create a civilized society from scratch. I believe if these five pillars were to be followed strictly human race could co exist peacefully and prosper.
