The situation: AEP delivers 38,000 megawatts to 6m consumers in 11 states, but half of its transformers are over 50 years old.

The challenge: Jeff Fleeman, director of transmission studies, needed new insights into his infrastructure that allowed him to extend the life of these assets and maintain or replace only when required based on each asset’s actual condition.
