On August 21,201 9, the Monongahela Power Company and the Polmac Edison Company (together Companies) filed their petition for review, requesting increased rates for their Vegetation Management Surcharge (VMS) to be effWive January 1 ,,2020. The proposed Increase is projected to result in a total annual increase in rates of S7.605,391. This amount is comprised of an actual VMS over-recover balance of $6,115,133 as of June 30, 2019, and a projected under-recovery of $2f ,241,036 for the 202012021 rate effective period. This is an overall increase in total revenue and average rates 01 0.5 percent The primary reasons lor the requested increase are (i) Ihe movement to 'a fouyear Vegetation Management Plan cycle from a five-year cycle and (ii) increased operations and maintenance work instead ofcapital work because of rights-of-ways now being cleared.
