I.WhyuseVokiClassroom?

VokiClassroomisdesignedtohelpteachersmanagestudents’work.Teacherscanusethistooltoassignclassworkandhomeworktostudentsandreviewtheirsubmissionsinreal-time,eitherfromdesktopormobiledevice,allowingforaconvenientandorganizedwaytoassesstheirknowledgeofatopic.VokiClassroommakesiteasytoaddatechcomponenttoanyassignment,bycallingstudentstoexpresstheirthoughtswithaVokiavatar.Studentsareeachgivenauniquelogin,sothere’snoneedforthemtoregisterorprovidepersonalinformation.

II.RegisteringforVokiClassroom

IfyoualreadyhaveaVokiBasicaccount,seeUpgradingbelow.TogainaccesstoVokiClassroomyoumustpurchaseasubscription.Completethefollowingsteps:

1. Visitwww.voki.comandnavigatetothePricingpage

2. Chooseasubscriptionlevelandclick“15-DayTrial”underthelevelofyourchoice.Apopupwindowwillappear;click“15-DayTrial”againunderneathyourpreferredplan(monthlyorannual).

3. Proceedtocompletetheregistrationform(name,email,andpassword)andacceptVoki’stermsofuse.ClickContinue.

4. YouwillthenbedirectedtothepaymentpagewhereyoucaninputyourcreditcardinformationandactivateyourpaidVokisubscription.

YoumustbeloggedintoupgradeyourVokiaccount.Pleasecreateanewaccountifyouhaven’tdonesoalreadyorlogintoyourexistingaccount.Onceyouaresignedin,therearetwowaystoquicklyupgradeyouraccount:

IV:GettingStartedwithVokiClassroom

1.Loggingin

OnceyourVokiaccountiscreated,youarereadytologin.Visitvoki.comandselectLogInlocatedonthetoprightofthepage.

SelectClassroomlocatedonthetopnavigationbar.Onceselected,youwillarriveontheStudentspage.Youcaneasilyviewotherpages/areasbyclickingonthetabsnearthetopofthepage(i.e.Students,Classes,Review).

2.StudentSection

A.AddingStudent(s)

i. ToaddstudentstoVokiClassroom,clicktheAddStudentbutton.

ii. Toaddasinglestudent,typethestudent’snameandclickAdd.Youcanalsoassignthestudenttooneormoreclasses

iii. Toaddmultiplestudents,clicktheMultipleStudentstab.SelectChooseFileanduploadan.xlsfilewithyourlistofstudents.WerecommendthatyoudownloadanduseourprovidedtemplatewhichcanbefoundontheAddMultipleStudentstab.Youmayalsoassignthestudentsinyourlisttooneormoreclasses.

iv. Whenyouarereadytoaddastudentormultiplestudents,clickAdd.YouwillbebroughtbacktotheStudentpageandthenewstudentwillnowbevisibleonyourlistofstudents.

B. EditStudentName-Toeditastudent’sname,rolloverthenameyouwishtoeditandthenclickthepenciliconthatappears.Onceyou’vemadeyourchanges,clickoutofthetextboxandyourchangeswillbeautomaticallysaved.

C. EditStudentlogin-Toeditastudentloginrollovertheloginyouwishtoeditandthenclickthepenciliconthatappears.Onceyou’vemadeyourchanges,clickoutofthetextboxandyourchangeswillbeautomaticallysaved.

D. EditStudentPassword-Toeditastudent’spassword,rolloverthepasswordyouwishtoeditandthenclickthepenciliconthatappears.Onceyou’vemadeyourchanges,clickoutofthetextboxandyourchangeswillbeautomaticallysaved.

E. RemoveStudent-Youcanalsoremoveastudentfromthelistbyclickingthewhite“x”inanorangecircleatthefarrightandthenclickingdelete.Note:Modifyingastudent’snamewillalsochangetheirLogin,somakesureyouprovidestudentswiththeirupdatedlogininformation.

F. PrintforClass-Thisfeatureletsyouprintlogininstructionsforyourstudents.Here,youhavetwooptions:

i. Print1sheetfortheentireclass:Thiswillprintalistofloginsandpasswordsforallstudents.Note:loginsandpasswordswillbevisibletoeveryoneviewingthelist.

ii. Printindividualinstructions:Thisisamoresecureoptionthatletsyouprintindividualinstructionsforeachstudent.Afterprintingtheseinstructions,youcancutouttheindividualinstructionsandhandthemout.

G. Search-Youcaneasilysearchforstudentsbyname,orforallstudentsinacertainclass.

H. Classes-Clickthechalkboardiconnexttoastudent’snametoassignhim/hertooneormoreclasses

I. Assignments-Clickchecklisticontoreviewthatstudent’sVokiassignments

J. Sort-Youcansortyourstudentsalphabeticallybyfirst,middle,andlastnamebyclickingonthecolumntitle

3.Classes

Toaddaclass,navigatetotheClassestabunderneathClassroomintheMenubar.IntheClassesarea,youcandothefollowing:

A.Add&EditClasses:Clickthe“AddaClass”button.Apop-upwindowwillappearwithatextbox.Nameyourclassandclick“Add”.Youwillseethispop-upwindowifyourclasswassuccessfullyadded.ClickOK.

B.AddAssignments:Afteraddingaclass,clicktheaddicon( )nexttotheclassname.Then,nametheAssignmentandwriteadescription.TheAssignmentdescriptioncanbeinstructionsforyourstudents,adescriptionforthoseviewingthepublicAssignmentpage,oracombinationofboth!Besuretoindicateyourassignmenttype:youcanchooseeitherthe“ClassicVoki”whichisjustonesceneora“VokiPresentation”whichisalongerseriesofslides

C.HidinganAssignment-IfanAssignmentishidden,theAssignmentWebpagewillnotdisplaytheAssignment’sVokisyouhaveapproved.TohideanAssignment,selectthearchivecheckbox()ToshowanAssignment,deselectonthecheckbox.

D.ConfigureanAssignment-EachAssignmentcomeswithawebpagewhereotherscanviewtheVokisyourclasshascreatedforthatAssignment.ToconfigureyourAssignment,clicktheconfigure(gearicon)nexttotheAssignmentname.Here,youcandothefollowing:

i. Selectthestyle/layoutoftheAssignmentpage

ii. ConfigurethesecurityoftheAssignmentpage(i.e.maketheAssignmentpagepublicorprivate)

iii. DisplayyourStudents’fullnames(orinitialsonly)

iv. Addanembedbutton(enablesharing)

v. Addawritingassignment

vi. SetanAssignmentdeadline

WhenyouaredoneconfiguringtheAssignment,clickSave

F.Review-AfteryourstudentshavestartedworkingontheirVokis,youcanalsogototheReviewsectionbyclickingtheReviewtab(moreonthatnext).

4.ReviewingStudentWork

TheVokiClassroomReviewpage(shownbelow)iswhereyoureviewyourStudents’work.

ThemostdirectwaytoaccesstheReviewpageistoselecttheReviewtabinVokiClassroom.TheReviewpageautomaticallydisplaysthisStudent’sworkforyoutoreview.

However,youcanalsoaccesstheReviewpageviaVokiClassroom:Studentspage(whentheStudentstabisselected)andClassespage(whentheClassestabisselected)

WhenyouareontheStudentspage,VokiClassroomallowsyoutoreviewallassignmentsforan

individualStudentbyclickingthe Reviewicon.Forexample,toreviewallofEmilyAndrews’VokiassignmentsfromtheStudentspage,youwouldclicktheReviewiconnexttothisStudent’sname.

Similarly,whenyouareontheClassespage,VokiClassroomallowsyoutoreviewtheworkforany

individualassignmentinagivenclass–alsobyclickingthe Reviewicon.

WhennewVokisarereadyforreview,an(exclamationmark)!willappearontheReviewicontonotifyyou.

TheReviewpageautomaticallydisplaysalloftheworksubmittedforthisassignment(bythestudentsinyourChemistry1Class)foryoutoreview.

WhenyouareontheReviewpage,youcanquicklysortassignmentsbyClass,AssignmentorbyStudent.InadditiontosortingassignmentsbyClass,Assignment,orStudent,theReviewpagealsoallowsyoutosortassignmentsbystatus(i.e.All,GetStarted,ReadyforReview,TryAgain,Approved).

IfyouwanttosortAssignmentsby:

- Class,thenusetheClass:dropdowntoselectaClass

A.PersonalInformation:

I. ProfilePicture:Todothis,clickontheareawhereyourpictureappears,anduploadanewone.

II. Name:If,foranyreason,youneedtochangethenameoftheaccountholder,simplyclickEditnexttoyournameandtypeinanewname.

III. EmailAddress:YoucanedittheemailaddressassociatedwithyourVokiPresenteraccount.Note:ThischangewillapplytoVoki,VokiClassroom,andVokiPresenter.

IV. Password:YoucanedityourVokiPresenterpasswordaswell.Note:ThischangewillapplytoVoki,VokiClassroom,andVokiPresenter.

B.AccountSettings

i. AccountExpiration:ThisfieldshowsyouwhenyoursubscriptionexpiresExtendlink:Toextendyouraccount,simplyclickExtend,chooseyoursubscriptiontype(monthlyorannual),andcontinuetothepaymentpage.

ii. CreationDate:Thisfieldwillshowyouthedateatwhichyoursubscriptionbegan.

iii. Invoices:Clickontheinvoicenumbertoaccessarecordofpastpayments.

iv. SubscriptionLevel:ThisfieldwillshowyouwhichVokisubscriptionlevelyouarecurrentlysubscribedto.

D.AddingMoreStudentAccountsandClasses:

Asmentionedabove,Vokisubscriptionsarebasedonthenumberofstudentsmanaged.

i. Level1includes50students

ii. Level2includes100students

iii. Level3includes150students.

Wehavefoundthattheselimitsaresufficientforthevastmajorityofteachers.IfyouneedtomanageadditionalStudentsyoucaneasilyupgradetothenextsubscriptionlevelorAddMorestudentsasneeded.JustgototheMyAccountspageandclickUpgradeunderSubscriptionInfoorAddMoreunderVokiClassroomSettings.

Whenaddingmorestudentsindividually,eachstudentcosts$1US.

HowlongdotheadditionalStudentAccountslastinmyaccount?Forever.OnceyouhavepurchasedadditionalStudentaccounts,theyarenowapermanentadditiontoyouraccount.Inotherwords,youradditionswillnotexpirewhenyoursubscriptionexpires,andyouwillnotneedtore-purchasethemwhenextendingyouraccount!

Anoteaboutsharingaccounts:Asyoumayknow,eachVokisubscriptionaccountisintendedtobeusedbyone(1)teacher.Althoughsometeachersmaychoosetosharetheiraccountwithanotherteacher,wedonotencouragethis,astheaccountfeaturesworkbestforasingleuser.TomakeVokimoreaffordableforusebymultipleteachers,wehaveincludedadditionalmultiple-accountdiscounts(anadditional10%discountfor5to9accounts,anda15%discountfor10ormoreaccounts).Also,itismoreeconomicaltopurchaseaseparateaccountthantopurchasetheextraStudentaccountsneededbymostteachers.
