Enrollment The new 4-H year started October 1. Enrollment is done ONLY through 4-H Online. Annual membership dues are $20. Please review all
information when you reenroll to make sure it is up to date. If you have forgotten your password, please use the reset password option instead of creating a new profile. Info about new enrollments is available online or by contacting the Extension office. Remember – you cannot register for any events until you are enrolled in the system!!!
Youth covered by Managed Care Plans, also
known as Missouri Medicaid/MO HealthNet, MAY be eligible to have their membership in one afterschool program or
club paid by their insurance company. To
see if you qualify, call the Member Services number
for your insurer and request a voucher for
each child.

Robotics Training Saturday
December 3
Held at the 4-H Center for
Youth Development in
Columbia, Mo AND
Buchanan County
Extension Center in St.
Joseph, Mo.
The session will be hands on
learning with the LEGO
MINDSTORMS EV3 robotics
kits.
Topics to be covered are:
Components of the EV3
Basic engineering and programming
Use of sensors
Equipment management tools
Activity lesson plans for youth
Ideas for funding a 4-H
Robotics program using
Participants will get hands on
experience with the EV3 model
of the LEGO MINDSTORMS,
co-learn with other 4-H
volunteers and develop a plan
for 4-H Robotics in their county
and region.
This will be a split presentation
with the key trainers at the 4-H
Center for Youth Development
in Columbia and a virtual link
to the Buchanan County
Extension Center in St. Joseph.
A facilitator will be at the St.
Joseph location.

Jefferson City. Youth
delegates from across the
state are selected to meet
with executive, legislative
& judicial state
government leaders.
Highlights include
shadowing state
legislators, & meeting with
commodity groups, state
agencies & major
supporters of the 4-H
program.

Missouri Youth Civic Leaders
Summit

Ready to experience the magic of growing leaders and communities? Team registration is now open for YCLS 2017 “More than MAGIC!” & will remain open until February 1st.
At YCLS 2017, Missouri 4-H
and Missouri Community Betterment teens/adult leaders will be challenged to motivate action and growth in their communities! As a Summit team participant or leader, you can join with other teen/adult leaders from across Missouri (and other states) to learn, act out, and showcase active citizenship. Youth-adult partnerships are key to growing new leaders, raising youth voice on community issues, engaging in meaningful local action, and delivering solutions through service-learning.
All youth/adult teams are welcome, whether experienced or new! The Summit is designed for groups to build teamwork, learn skills for greater leadership and service, showcase a talent, plan a community project, and earn a mini-grant to implement their project in 2017!
Teams are made up of
teens ages 14-18, & at least one adult team leader (staff, volunteer, parent, local leader). Youth must be age 14 by Jan. 1, 2017 to register.
Teams can represent a
local club, council, afterschool program, community group, organization, community or countywide effort.
Teams must have a
minimum of 3 members (1 adult, 2 youth) & a maximum of 10 members (2 adults, 8 youth).
Participation is open to 4-
H members and non-4-H members; adults must be approved as 4-H chaperones by the date of the event.
Registration is $150 per
person, includes two-nights lodging, meals, recreation, workshops & all weekend activities.
First adult is free. One
adult leader is complimentary for the first 30 teams to register. Limit one per community/ county.
Space is limited, so early
registration is encouraged!

Washington Focus
(CWF) Trip 2017
June 10-19
Cost: $2,300 Citizenship Washington
Focus (CWF) is a 4-H
leadership program for
high schoolers aged 14 to
18. 4-H members will stay
at the National 4-H Youth
Conference Center, near
Washington, D.C., and
participate in a week-long
program enriching their
lives with activities that
broaden their appreciation
and respect for themselves
and others. 4-H members will
tour national landmarks and
meet their elected officials. Side
trips to Fort McHenry and New
York City will follow the
conference. Cost will include
transportation, all meals,
lodging & tours.
Applications & first payment
due December 1, 2016.

Whitetails Unlimited
River Hills Chapter
Banquet Saturday,
January 21, 2017 Perry County 4-H Shooting Sports is working with the local Whitetails on this event as a major fundraiser for 4-H. There will be a limit of 600 tickets sold. Contact Perry County YPA, Dianna Koenig at (573) 513-2899 for more info. Perry County 4-H is pleased to partner with Whitetails Unlimited. The local Chapter has helped with many great projects. Whitetails mission is to raise funds in support of 1) educational programs, 2) wildlife habitat enhancement and acquisition and 3) preservation of the hunting tradition and shooting sports for future generations.

Katie’s Krops Grower Grants
Deadline: December 31 Katie’s Krops is seeking youth,
ages 9 to 16, who want to help
end hunger in their community
by starting a vegetable garden
where the whole harvest is
donated to feed people in need in
their community. Youth selected
as Katie’s Krops Growers will be
awarded a gift card to a garden
center in their area (up to $500),
garden tools, support from the
Katie’s Krops team, will have
access to the private Katie’s
Krops Grower reporting website
and growing manual, be eligible
to apply to the all-expenses-paid
Katie’s Krops Summer Camp,
