President’s Message: Happy Spring, Piecemakers!
Marie Nelson certainly gave an
inspirational talk at our March guild
meeting, didn't she? It made me want
to go home and pull out those projects that I've
been too afraid to tackle. I hope that you felt
similarly inspired by her creativity. Besides,
with all of this rain -- could there be a better
excuse for staying inside and getting a little
sewing done? Or, in my case, spending some
time sorting through various unfinished projects
in an attempt to get things organized. It's been
"March Madness" here -- the realization of just
how many UFOs I have collected! But spring is
also a time of joy, inspiration and renewal, and I
am confident that I will make inroads into my
quilting goals this year. I hope you are also
finding joy in your quilting endeavors, be it
completing an unfinished project, starting a new
one. Or organizing that bin of unfinished
projects.
Thank you again for all of the wonderful
cards I've received, you certainly have lifted my
spirits! Also, words cannot express how touched
I was to receive the lovely Prayer Quilt that
Lynne made and many of you tied. Thank you
all, and special thanks to Lynne for the time and
energy it took to put together this amazing,
thoughtful, healing gift. I appreciate all of your
kind thoughts and prayers while working on this
special quilt, and I will treasure it always.
Angie Horne 743-1286
Moonlighters Chair:
That was a full meeting this month
with the trunk show by Nancy & Virginia then
all the show and tells. Gets me motivated to
get sewing. Now that Spring is here and more
rain what better weather to get some
projects worked on. I can't wait to get next
month’s instructions for the table runner. The
last one was a very big hit to all
that participated.
I hope everyone got the chance to say a
little prayer & tie a knot in the Prayer Quilt for
Angie. It was sure good to see her at the
meeting and give her a big hug.
So, till next time, HAPPY SEWING

so all members could tie a prayer for her.
Sharon Helton introduced our speaker,
Marie Nelson who is a member of the River
City Quilt Guild in Sacramento. Marie
displayed her quilts as she shared her creative
journey with us. Her last word of advice is that
quilting really does make a quilt and
sometimes it is important that we have custom
quilting done on our quilts.
Several members shared their quilting
projects during show and tell. Be sure to look
at the pictures in the newsletter to see them.

to update Jan Owens if you have made and
donated a quilt so that she can keep records of
donations. Quilt guild labels for donation
quilts (available, optional) can be obtained
from Jan Owens.
The April North Quarter meeting will
be held in Hayfork. The program will be on
antique and vintage quilts.
Angie presented Auda Hill with the
