Laos Educational System consists of three levels:
• Primary School (5 Years length);
• Secondary School (High School) for 6 Years, and;
• University Levels which last from 4 to 6 year courses depending upon specialties.
• All Lao citizens start their schooling at the age of 6 of which primary and secondary schools are compulsory.

There are three universities establishing in Laos
National University of Laos located in
Vientiane Capital; University of Souphanouvong located in Luang
Prabang (Nothern Part of Laos), and; Champasack University located in the South.
• National University of Laos is the first, the largest and the most complex higher institution in Laos.
• It becomes the mother of the two latter universities in terms of educational experiences, management, and accreditation.
• It operates under the Ministry of Education’s umbrella.
